  • Cosmic Trigger or any other RAW books. I read so many of his books in my formative years and they dismantled or completely destroyed some of my previously held superstitions, biases, and beliefs about the world.

  • I think the cultural influences from Mexico should count. As far as food goes, Mexican food is some amazing stuff, but the American variations are different, yet amazing in their own rights. Tex-Mex, New Mexican, and Cali-Mex are some of my favorite spins on traditional Mexican food. Plus I think you're already including Mexican influences with BBQ and rodeo.

  • I don't really get your argument.

Speed cameras are designed to do one thing -- issue citations for speeding.

The job of the police officer is to identify a wide array of crimes and issue citations for them, when they observe them.

The incident where a car was tailgating you and the incident where a lorry was creating an unsafe driving situation have absolutely nothing to do with the speeding camera. Both of those situations are the responsibility of a policy officer, if they are alerted to the crime or observe it themselves. You have a valid complaint about the complacency of your local law enforcement, but what does your argument have to do with the speed camera?

  • Honestly, it's cool that you're doing what you can to make the world a better place, and that matters more than anything. I do not support Reddit's politics and policies and I am able to avoid it completely. I feel that is a net positive in the world. You're a nurse. Your job is to help people. If minimizing your Reddit usage helps to reduce Reddit's ad revenue, but using it a little bit still helps you be a better or happier or more sane nurse, then it sounds like that's a good thing. Maybe keep your eyes peeled for alternate growing communities, but I think you're already pretty cool for using Reddit less, but still using it when it helps you make the world a better place in other aspects of your life.

  • I completely understand and empathize with your concern. I would be willing to suggest to the committee that decides such things to allow you to freely choose whether you join Lower Ohio or Soon-to-be Ohio instead, or you could just become a part of Ohio proper, as you're basically already our little sibling. <3
