I 100% agree. Other countries need to look at loot boxes, gacha systems, randomised loot tables impacted by IRL currencies (including premium currency), etc as gambling and enforce it as such. So many people have lost so much because of the lack of regulation on this.

My understanding is yes, but only if the instances have federated with each other.

I haven't seen a single NSFW post since I've toggled it off. I have had to block a couple bot accounts that have been posting porn in comments, but that is a mod issue, not a Lemmy one.

There's literally a toggle in the account settings that toggles whether you see nsfw posts lol

Look mate. Sometimes we do things just because we want to or just because we can. I feel like in the world we currently live in, everything has become a struggle to squeeze out every last drop of our life to generate money, reputation, fame or whatever else.

It's ok to just have something you do that's just sits there and it makes you happy or relaxed or even if you just look at it and not have to worry about anything else.

Are they too dumb to uncheck the "show NSFW" button in settings? It was the same in Reddit idk. Can't do much about Communism, but at least the Lenin porn is blocked.

I remember when iPhones first came out, they were locked to a single telecom provider. It got jailbroken within a week and every patch following it for over a year got jailbroken too.

If there is enough demand by big brands, unlike the fairphone, there will be a way to use it outside of the EU. Combined with the extra cost to manufacture, I don't see big companies just producing it uniquely for the EU or even if they do, not for long.

And they know people are going to be importing these smartphones once it goes live and it's not a battle that can be fought.

Not split screen but my partner and I are really enjoying nine parchments. She's not a gamer at all, but the game on casual difficulty gives just the right amount of challenge for her.

For the first point. If I were to click on a link in the comments which points to another instance, I'm basically taken out of my instance and as far as I'm aware, there is no way to comment or like anything in that post within my account. I have hop out of the post, switch to my instance and then go back into the post. It has happened enough times to be annoying for me.

100% agree with the 2nd point. Why I said that it's probably out of scope. Maybe if there was a site like Imgur for Lemmy. But it only makes sense if it were federated which I don't know how that would work.

I wonder how many of these are unique? I'm sure that many, like myself, have created accounts on more than 1 instance.

Definitely my favourite one so far! Though I will still be experimenting with newer ones when they come out.

A couple features I'd like to see implemented:

• Setting a base instance/account and having links open through that instance. I understand this will put increased pressure on the base instance but from a user perspective this is a massive qol update.
• Finding a way to upload videos or converting small videos to gifs before uploading without having to go into a third party source or implementing third party connectivity for this purpose. This is probably out of scope for what the app is trying to achieve, but would be a great addition for content creation on Lemmy in general.

One would hope that all the learning mistakes happen earlier in the career before you could be trusted with something big like that.

Me learning anything ever. Troubleshooting is the real learning phase.

Windows10, cause I'm a basic bitch. I've tried to run Linux a couple times years ago, but games not running properly and me not getting over the learning curve always got in the way.

Other instances would just de-federate in that case. I don't think this is that much of an issue really because threads would just end up being its own ecosystem with no other instances willing to federate with it.

Can someone with a better understanding of how Federation works confirm or explain why this is wrong? I only learned about this stuff like 4 days ago after leaving Reddit.

I want more games like Mark of the Ninja, Hollow Knight, or the Armored Core series.

Games where there is always engagement without running around in a dead map for 5 minutes to a checkpoint.

That being said, super hyped for AC6 coming next month!
