  • Its so wrong, yet I cant look away

  • My computer suddenly died when I was an unemployed student, about 12 years ago. I had no money for a new one or repairs, etc. It was pretty devastating.

Then I somehow discovered my city's local Freegeek, (the one in Vancouver BC) - I was able to buy an refurbished Ubuntu tower for $35. They showed me how to use it, invited me back if I needed help, and were generally super kind and helpful.

It was a very nice introduction to the world of open source. I had no clue such a thing as free software and OS even existed before then. Ive been using linux ever since, as much as possible.

  • I heard him talk today for the first time, guy has the ability to weasel his way out of answering questions with a high degree of confidence and businessman charisma.

Comes across as not insane, even when saying ludicrous bullshit. (Which is constantly, even more than Trump - since Trump is usually just rambling about himself etc)

This is a scary combination of things.

  • I dont know, you cant really go shopping for cults. Cults go shopping for you.

  • Ive heard this has been floated in various states (since Trumps actions have clearly violated their state laws when it comes to candidacy)

... I wonder how this would look if a candidate appeared on a ballot in one state and not in another?

  • It's safe if there's safe places to ride bikes? More bike lanes are needed everywhere, especially as cars get more and more out of reach for people.

Overall they are a very good thing.

(Maybe just ... do some public safety campaigns for sidewalk sharing etiquette haha)

  • Yes, they are trying. Sorry I should rephrase that to "if America was successfully overtaken"

I still wouldn't say most of the populace, it's more like a tie. But thats' definitely a way way higher number than there should be considering.

  • By comparison Nintendo charges 24.99 a year (In Canada) Its a much simpler service but you also get access to some of their old catalogue online.

Or even cheaper just use Steam.

  • They definitely did. But a whole lot of Americans voted against them, too. It would be unfair to dismiss all of America because some of them vote for these people.

  • The people living in afghanistan are the ones being victimized by the taliban. They do have supporters obviously, but to say that all men living in afghanistan are okay with what's happening is ridiculous.

If America was violently overtaken by gun-toting religious maniacs, would it be fair to say "Oh well some of them voted for it! Their fault!"

  • And its a hot topic so there are a lot of articles about it since it generates traffic. And the bigger and doomier the article, the more hype.

But lots of people are unhappy about AI, its not a narrative being funded by a secret cabal or something.

  • Will this coincide with their price rise?! Less stuff for more money! Sounds correct.

  • Politics especially in the United States has become too boring and safe
