  • France is particularly patriotic out of Western countries I've visited. Not an expert but it's a bit of a hangover from the French revolution, they have a strong focus on integration and preserving their shared culture.

  • IMO it's ban/block evasion which is the biggest con to decentralization. It's a problem on centralized platforms but the many servers design makes it easier on fediverse.

It's not a huge deal to me because I don't block many things but might be a consideration for people with a sensitive disposition.

  • Hard to have a nuanced opinion on this issue since I'm not directly affected by it. From what I can observe some of my gay friends use slurs in a humourous way to make light of the reality that not everyone in society is cool with them being themselves. They seem to enjoy being transgressive and think they have a license to do so in this case (I'd probably argue that they do). idk maybe "reclaiming" was the wrong phrase; it's more like gallows humour or something.

  • I think its a pun because Japanese doesn’t have a distinct ‘r’ sound so the title can be read as “Bravely Default” or “Bravery Default”… not sure if it’s intentional!

The game is from square enix who did all the Final Fantasy series. Pretty similar to FF5 in some ways. There is a “default” mechanic in combat which the title is referring to.

  • I find handhelds like 3DS and Switch 1/2 have been the most convenient for gaming as an adult. In the evenings my wife often wants to use the tv so I can sit next to her on the sofa and play games without monopolising the tv myself.

  • When I worked in catering we were taught to open bottles quietly because the sound of bottles being popped sounds like money being spent to the event organiser and you want to serve/charge them for as many bottles as possible.

  • Upper back pain is quite unusual compared to lower back pain. Definitely worth getting checked out by a doctor when you can.

Anyway if you are working from home try to move to a different position every 30-40 mins. I find that standing up and putting the laptop on a chest of drawers or something similar for a while really helps with stopping the pain accruing in a certain area. If that's too painful try to be on your feet semi-frequently, like taking a bathroom break and walking around the block.

You probably don't want to do any strenuous exercise like pilates but some light yoga might help.

Somewhere in the OP you mentioned NSAID's which are what I get prescribed - the one I have is called diclofenac and it's stronger than ibuprofen but there are even stronger ones too.
