I don't like this article because it misses some of the more important details around how to lengthen your device's life and why you may or may not want to keep your battery at a specific state of charge.

1. State of charge is pretty arbitrary, your charging circuit could charge between 3.0V and 4.2V (pretty typical), or it could charge between 3.2V and 4.0V and still show 4.0V as being 100% charge. Different chemistries can have slightly (or significant in the case of LFP) different voltages. The cynic in me wouldn't be surprised if eventually 100% becomes ~4.35V because it makes their device look better to tech reviewers, but then have it default to only charge to 4.2V because it still gives suitable device life.
2. The most important factors in how long your device's battery will last are temperature and how deeply you discharge the battery. Discharging your phone down until it dies does way more damage than keeping it charged at 100%.
3. At some point practicality comes into it, you would get even more total energy out of a cell if you kept it between 40% and 60% all the time, but obviously it isn't very practical to only use 20% of your phone's available capacity in day to day use.
4. Consider how long you are storing your device. If it is always plugged in or won't be used for months, then something like 40% to 60% would be a more suitable state of charge to keep your device at if possible. If it sits on your desk and you need to unplug it periodically and know you don't need the full charge, then sure keep it at 80%.

Personally, I don't stress about the batteries in my devices at all. I generally keep an eye on the power and plug it in when convenient, but target plugging it in before it gets too far below 50%. I've historically had almost zero issues with the batteries in my devices wearing out before I'm ready to replace it for other reasons unless it started out with marginal battery life.

FYI, I was looking at that exact enclosure for a project I was working on and quickly came to realize that without a bunch of design calculations and redesign for a specific driver it is probably going to be worse sounding than just mounting it into a basic box (with a port if you are feeling fancy).

Yeah, not a good time when your NAS gets ransomware attacked beacuse the company who makes it has shit security practices. Build your own with TrueNAS or Unraid who at least have motivation to keep their software secure.

Agreed, the problem is that Google has zero vision and product roadmap and that responsibility rests on the CEO and the team they have below. They have continually eroded their customers' and users' trust in the company under Sundar's leadership. At some point this has to affect their bottom line at which point he will have to answer to the shareholders.

The banks own scammy calls don't help this. I had one a few years ago where they called me about a charge and their system asked for way too much information. I hung up and called the number on the card and they seemed confused when I explained how scammy it was after they confirmed the call was legitimate.

It seems like the best plan for any time your bank calls you is to hang up and call the number on the back of your card.

Is this meant to be something surprising? It applies to every photograph ever taken as a photograph it is just a representation of the photons that hit your film/sensor. Ansel Adams even makes a comment similar to the Samsung exec in his book 'The Camera'.

That doesn't mean there aren't varying degrees of realism to that representation. A journalistic photo should show the scene as representatively as the photographer can make it with minimal editorializing. While an artistic photo may have any amount of editing that the photographer wants. Where there is an issue is when the photographer trying to create the first image unwittingly gets the second due to image processing.

I've found Aliexpress shipping is much better than it used to be. It used to be 1 month for ocean shipping and another for customs and delivery. Now it is a couple weeks total. Just bought a bunch of stuff mid January and it all arrived last week.

I do wear my normal watch when I sleep, same as I want to do with my smart watch to track sleep. The normal watch comes off for showering on the morning and put back on right after while the smart watch takes longer to charge than that so I have to remember to go back and put the watch on once it finishes charging (if it has charged fully by the time I have to leave the house).

Try slowing down your outer perimeter speed to 50mm/s and/or bump up your temperature by 10 degrees. Bambu's PETG defaults are bad IMO and my prints came out much better once I changed those two settings (the speed alone did it for me, but temp tower testing on Polymaker and Sunlu showed that higher temps printed nicer).

This is what bothers me so much about this, how many people have been affected by this and the only reason this is finally being treated with the seriousness it deserves is because a famous person is affected?

Agreed, I regret buying my Galaxy Watch 4. The sleep and exercise tracking is nice to have but otherwise it is just an inconvenient watch because you have to remember to charge it daily.

It is so frustrating trying to buy a nvme ssd because they make it so unclear which models have DDR and which don't. I tried to buy one recently to upgrade a family member's computer and was wondering how a non technical person has any chance of finding something decent.
