  • It's the law but due to how working for wage thieving losers works, it doesn't happen in practice.

  • I think just hotel breakfast rooms

  • China isn't desperate enough to invade half of Europe and threaten to nuke everyone, though.

  • It's always amazing where some Republicans draw the line. Overt racism? Bizarre incoherence? Trying to overturn an election with a riot? Spousal assault previously documented in court? Paying off prostitutes with campaign money? Trying to use federal foreign aid money to start a fake smear campaign on an opponent? Calling up state election officials and pressuring them to create a bullshit election investigation? Politicizing public health because you're vain about your weird makeup? Mocking disabled people? Having Russian officials over to the White House and destroying the translator's notes? Saying things about women like "bleeding out of her whatever"? Demonstrating a pattern of fraudulent accounting for decades? No problem. But this ONE thing, that's too much.

  • I'll add one two letter word in case you were confused.

  • Somehow this became a cultural thing in the US. In some other countries like in South America it’s perfectly normal for 3-4 generations to live under 1 roof.

My guess is it’s tied to making people spend more money for capitalism. The effect it’s had on families is not very positive. It leads to things like elderly people draining thousands from their savings or family members a month for nursing homes. People have to hire child care when otherwise family members could watch a child. Children grow up with more distance from older relatives. Buying additional homes and cars is way more expensive than sharing them. Additional cable and utility bills. More appliances. More food waste.

  • It’s almost amazing how shitty these turned out to be. As someone who already hated Tesla, I’m proud.

  • The confusion in his eyes that says it all... Mike's lost control again...

  • I'd bet anything about labor unions is 'political' but some shit article like 'work from home is bad for your mental health' is not.

  • I'm sure the algorithm will do a passable but terrible job, like their AI moderation. The problem I see is it gives them further excuses about censoring certain topics from people's feed, while allowing through the political speech they want people to see.

  • Same. Facebook is of course horrible and has been a net loss for humankind, but Reddit and Elron Musk have managed to demonstrate that things could be even worse.

  • It's really such an insane theory though. You get .01 through 100 years on earth, and if you screw up your one shot, you're rewarded or punished for eternity? Just nuts. I have no idea why people would feel normal telling themselves and each other this.

  • Splendid! According to his own beliefs he'll be tortured by satan for an infinite amount of time.

  • Alcoholism isn’t required for drinking liquor. It’s optional.

  • Yeah. Only for one year though. I had previously thought his CIA involvement was more extensive.

  • I went through a chocolate period and that was fun. At this point, uh, buying liquor. Not even the expensive stuff now though.

  • 10-12 years ago IG had a different feel but at this point it's just generic social media like anything else, plus they also tried to copy Snapchat and TikTok, which has a lot of political content.
