Ever get the sense that just maybe, someone out there past the boundaries of the only nation that exists, probably fictional, certainly not worth having on your Christmas card list, might have figured out a different way to do things?

I wish we could be as certain about 'read'.

Last week I texted my wife "I desire chicken" and Autocorrect tried to change it to "I desire children. I don't, Autocorrect. In either sense! What sick game are you playing...?

What bugs me most is whether 'biannual' means twice per year or every second year.

Hell if I know. That was 30+ years ago.

I'd like to be able to mark specific top level posts as 'don't show me this again'.

Probably doing tech support in a child cancer ward. The kids all just looked exhausted. I tried not to let it get to me - they came to the hospital for help to live, not to die, so I made the choice to be hopeful about their chances.

I don't know what soap opera it was, because it was playing on the TV at my barber's shop while I was in the chair. A woman started shooting at some people who had disappointed her. Just livin' the dream.

The part I repeat to myself most often is "blessed are the peace-makers". Because there are so many situations where I shouldn't say what I'm thinking. :)

Because we have a flag because everyone benefits from the effort to learn about and educate about ancient cultures. We presume that even those cultures benefit, because the memory of them is preserved instead of being forgotten.

Digging up artefacts for private collections, though - that's just grave robbery with a shine on it.

This is gonna be controversial.

When I find out someone is a Christian, I ask them about their favourite part of the sermon on the mount. If they don't know it, they're 'cultural Christians' who've never opened a bible. If they're familiar with the sermon, it means they do the work. The sermon on the mount is the section of the bible where Jesus explained to people what values they should hold and how they should behave in order to call themselves his followers.

I'm an ex-Christian and so are a lot of people who just don't know it yet.

Okay, now explain to me which is the best Star Trek captain and why anyone who disagrees needs to die by cheesegrater in a three-day ordeal.
