  • I volunteered in my area for the safety team and it sounds like it's going to be bigger than the Hands Off protest. We've only got about 6 on the team with an expected crowd size of 1500. Also heard about counter-protesters already planning to show up as well so I'm really hoping people are chill.

  • I’m looking for places with less censorship so we can have actual discussions instead of only allowing comments that support the trans agenda.

Did anyone come to this thread to actually answer the question?

Looks like the answer you got was "not here" and you can't accept that.

  • Maybe they'd like some of the kids cartoons I enjoy as an adult or when I was in high school?

Dexter's Lab, Ed Edd and Eddy, Power Puff Girls, 2 Stupid Dogs, Home Movies, Dr. Katz., Invader Zim, Rugrats, Ren and Stimpy, Hey Arnold, Rocko's Modern Life, Phineas and Ferb, Daria, Animaniacs, Pinky and the Brain, Regular Show, and Adventure Time.

  • I'm not just saying this because you said you're a woman but I liked https://nostarch.com/smartgirlsguide

For my friends with kids about to use the internet without restriction I've been getting them copies so they have something to refer to if they need it. It's a good overview and leads to books better suited for specific topics.

The books from this guy have also been pretty helpful: https://inteltechniques.com/books.html

  • I like both of my laptops so far but have mixed feelings on both. I know it's not a lot to go on but here's been my experience so far. Dell XPS 15 and my new framework. Sorry, don't know the model name.

Two days ago I received a framework laptop for work but haven't been able to test anything other than installing Kubuntu. It was shipped to me from my employer so they had the final say in how it was configured but a few things went wrong. Not sure whose fault it was but in the end it's still fine. I configured it to have a mix of usb-c and usb-a ports, 3.5mm audio, and display port. It came with six usb-c modules. Fine. I can live with that. The thing that really made me mad was that I requested a keyboard with no Windows key and to have no OS installed. It came with Windows 11 installed and had the Windows key on the keyboard. I don't know who messed up but I'm not mad enough to do or say anything about. I do like that repairs and changes on this machine will be easier/possible. Oh...audio worked right away too so that was nice. Already better than the Dell XPS I bought with my own money and has crackling audio due to hardware not software issues. Works fine through an audio interface but the speakers sound like ass. I should have returned that machine right away.

  • I don't know why I get suggestions for flat earth and anti-evolution videos but I like watching them because I learn a lot. My guess is that because of my interest in comedy videos I discovered "Patti Reviews Exotic Animals". From there I got" Clint's Reptiles". He is a a theist that accepts and explains evolution. I never doubted it but never took the time to learn what it was all about.

Then I get "Professor Dave Explains". He's fantastic. So many good science videos. So many videos where he puts an end to the dumbest ideas I've never even heard of. Do I need to learn how to argue with a creationist? No, but now I know how.

"Gutsick Gibbon" is awesome. Hers are on the larger side so I haven't seen them all but she's got great science education.

The last one I'll mention is "Lindsay Nikole" because she's my second favorite. If you want to know about the history of life on Earth then she's the best. Why isn't she my first favorite? It's because I don't have a favorite and I want her name to stick in you mind when you go to search youtube for things to watch. You'll notice she has guitars on her wall and I someday I hope to get her on a music project. I write songs about bugs and need her to get on at least one of them in some way. That would be cool as fuck.

  • I get that adding a QR code adds a tracking/metrics component to an organizations resources but as a user it pisses me off. Just put a human-readable URL there so I know what to do. I can remember www.poblanopete.com easier than I scan and load a page on my phone.

My town has a poster downtown that says "Scan here to see a map of this downtown area". WTF? Why not just put a fucking map there with an arrow that says "You are here?". It at least makes me laugh every time I see it.
