Super annoying but a great time to bring up Lemmy's crossposting feature! If the image is hosted nonlocally and posted separately, Lemmy can automatically combine the posts and show it as crosspost links. Seems like this feature should work for local media as well but does not seem to in this case. Now this could be user error or this may be a place that the feature can be improved.
Yo just so you know two spirit has nothing to do with furries. It usually refers to gender nonconforming traditions in indigenous american communities and has largely come into favor in Canada as part of recent campaigns to recognize tribal communities and their histories. These movements have obviously existed for a long time but the revelations about atrocities committed at residential schools seems to have really pushed them into the mainstream.
Otherwise, I think you're thinking of "otherkin" who are not generally included under the LGBTQ umbrella, but are frequently brought up to discredit queer progress as a movement.
I see what you're saying, but as a trans woman from a very rural area I see so much pain in the men in my life. And a lot of them I think just need to understand that they personally are harmed by the patriarchal ideas that they grew up with. Talking to many of them you can tell that they can FEEL the harm but lack the words and community to put the whole picture together.
There's actually a lot of theory and early work out there on the topic of federated search. While existing search aggregators like Searx and YaCY certainly qualify as federated, search infrastructure built from the ground up with decentralization in mind would look very different.
I'll be honest a big motivation for posting this is to try to get feminist men active in a dedicated community on Lemmy. Currently there's !mensliberation@lemmy.ca but it's fairly inactive. Trying to give it a bit of a jump start so if anybody feels like that's something they would benefit from please check it out! Also if anybody knows of a similar community with more activity please let me know.
My personal pet theory is that a lot of people were doing work that involved getting multiple LLMs in communication. When those conversations were then used in the RL loop we start seeing degradation similar to what’s been in the news recently with regards to image generation models. I believe this is the paper that got everybody talking about it recently: https://arxiv.org/pdf/2307.01850.pdf

Women's liberation is not some esoteric piece of history. It's in living memory for a lot of people and was a household term for decades. For those unfamiliar, I think it's worth asking why that may be.
I've been told that there is no way to incorporate that into the main feed, unfortunately. However, hashtags tend to be pretty messy so I totally get putting them in their own timelines.
I don't know if I'd go so far as to recommend a VPN or Tor. Should be the same risk profile as torrenting except legal in all places. Also, this information may be out of date, but I believe it is considered poor etiquette to use the Tor network for bandwidth heavy stuff like this. I know they used to put out PSAs about torrenting on the network.
Also positive masculinity tends to still be rooted in fairly patriarchal ideas of what it means to be a man in ways that liberation from gender roles specifically is not.
Post y'all. Everybody's still sorting by new and new comments. Now's the time to make it happen.
