We're cooked...

  • I always thought that was like one of the main things they did. We've been hearing for years that they've been getting sloppy and unprofessional but I always figured they'd get their shit together for protecting one of the ones they like.

  • When solar farms are more than like 0.01% of land utilization then maybe its worth caring about.

For the same land you can power a household or get like 14 pounds of beef. who cares.

Just install solar panels where its cheapest, which is going to be an empty field where you can install a ton and get better labor efficiency during the install. Making green energy more expensive to install only benefits fossil fuel companies. ::: spoiler back of napkin math

Average household is about 10000 kWh annually Solar farms conservatively produce 350MWh/year/acre

so 1/35 of an acre to power a home

roughly 3000 pounds of soybeans per acre becomes roughly 500 pounds of beef/acre.

    500*(1/35) = 14.2

  • This is just the paradox of tolerance with higher than usual stakes. If you believe he is an existential threat to American democracy and that American democracy is worth protecting with violence then you should be in favor of this.

If people actually believe he is going to end democracy but the only legitimate resistance is voting harder then we deserve to lose it.

  • "We should teach the democrats that they can full throatedly support a genocide while abandoning the left of the party and still win reelection" Great long term strategy there chief.

And I would think biden being a horrible candidate is doing a hell of a lot more to suppress the vote than posts on lemmy.

  • libs in this thread: "It's completely fine that best reason to vote for our candidate is that they aren't the other guy, this strategy definitely worked in 2016". At this point I'm at least glad the liberal genocide apologists won't be celebrating in november, gotta find a bright side somewhere.

  • What exactly is the distinction between "weakest against Trump" and "had worse polling margins against Trump?" If you specifically want to dial in on the 'likely to lose' claim that isn't what you were asking for in the comment I replied to.

  • There's no lawsuit. LLC believed he was using his position at a school district as part of a defamation campaign against them so they issued a complaint and he had to defend his teaching license. This happened a year ago and he never turned off the fundraiser.

*he kept his teaching license but was found to have violated the code of professional ethics https://www.prweb.com/releases/bochetto-amp-lentz-p-c-professional-teachers-practices-and-standards-commission-finds-eugene-ray-taken-alive-jr-violated-code-of-professional-ethics-870961036.html

  • Not really no. A lot of work goes into observing how words are used and writing definitions that describe those uses. Someone has to actually write the definitions and their writings are copyrightable.

They don't own the rights to describing a word, they do own how they described a word.

  • Granted the tribe should have gotten some free copies for their participation.

They did. The LLC distributed over a million dollar's worth of material for free and also the elders that worked with the LLC were directly paid for their time.
