Normally I'd post the full text of the article so you wouldn't have to worry about it, but they took down three of my posts and I had no way to fix them after they were removed. So I don't do that any more.

The Narcissist's Prayer:

Yeah, that's not going to happen. It's too useful. So the next best thing is to figure out what to do with it going forward.

Given his role in assisting the January 6th insurgency, it seems that morality isn't part of his character regardless of his religious identity.

A vote for a Republican is a vote for misogyny, bigotry, racism, authoritarianism, and class warfare on the side of the rich and powerful. There isn't a single Republican leader looking to move the nation forward, only backward to preserve the privileges they're losing.

If you know this and you vote for them anyway, you're an asshole. If you didn't know this and were just voting for them because that's how you were raised, here's your opportunity to not be an asshole.

Yeah, that's the big problem the article identifies: younger voters are still less likely to show up at the polls than older voters.

It's relatively arbitrary, but prior generations (like Gen X and the Boomers) tend to be more conservative. Millennials and younger start to skew more liberal. This is confirming that trend.

Zero people have defended Biden. I have myself declared that if it turns out that this is actionable then he should be prosecuted. You didn't give a shit about many public examples of corruption in the Trump administration, you're not going to bring up his felony indictments, and you won't admit it when Biden is cleared of any malfeasance. You're just here to sling mud and pretend "both sides are the same" like a good sower of disinformation. We see you. We know who you are. You will not hear from me again.

Sure, ACAB. But that doesn't mean every cop who shows up to keep the peace at polling stations will enable right wing violence. Especially not with the press watching.

They think they're tough enough and scary enough to get people to turn away rather than risk getting shot or beat up. They're consumed by fantasies of strong man authoritarianism.

I mean it doesn't matter because it's election interference that will happen again and again because we don't seem to have the political will to stop it. Unless we get Scenario 3.

They don't want anyone in districts dominated by Democrats to vote. That's why they're so keen on voter ID laws and shut down DMVs and other public services in those areas. They usually assume anyone who looks like a minority is probably voting for Democrats and aren't likely to take them at their word.
