  • Looks like someone didn't read the article.

  • Not going well is distinct from not possible. The article suggests we're using the wrong tactics.

  • The Speaker has procedural power over the House that the Vice President doesn't.

  • I think that's a bad take. We can't fight MAGA with the truth, but that's not the same as we can't fight them.

  • In fairness, they don't have to do far to find the bigotry and cruelty they're looking for.

  • What makes you think they won't keep trying until they find a judge willing to rule in their favor? Like, for instance, the majority of the Supreme Court?

It has worked for others, but your mileage may vary. I can no longer post the text of the article or link to an archive of it.

  • Since the truth doesn't serve their agenda, they claim the truth is subject to interpretation and what the Founders really meant was exactly what people like Barton and Johnson say they did.

When you can't win with logic, you dazzle 'em with bullshit.

  • Sadly, all this is doing is acknowledging the truth we already knew.

  • Pfft. She's not sorry. She's sorry she couldn't bully her way through it. She doesn't belong in public office, not even as a village dog catcher.

  • Which is how we can be assured that he will never put this claim to the test.

  • When they're pretending it means they're willing to acknowledge the shame of their immoral stance. It's when they stop pretending that they openly go after these things and dare anyone to try to stop them. Normalizing their hatred and bigotry really isn't preferable, it's a step toward enabling even worse behavior on their part.

  • Right? It certainly wasn't being broadcast on every news station for weeks.

  • Let's hope so. Some are threatening civil war if he's convicted and sent to prison, but then again, we're also talking about Snack Team 6. So I don't assume there's any bite behind that bark. I just know that after January 6th, they're absolutely going to try again.
