Seriously. They could add some other great features and they had to go with stories. I love Signal and use it but the addition of stories was a head scratcher.
I dunno, she's done a lot of stuff already that would warrant charges but nothing ever comes of it. Of course I'm hoping it sticks this time, but you know how the system works.
I just use the native search on lemmy itself. Just use the All filter so you get all communities your instance has already federated with, then subscribe from there.
Lol same. I also use it for time critical stuff where you don't want to risk a site breaking, like when trying to get tickets for good seats on a concert when sale opens.
Wait, there was developer drama? I just saw a comment from the Mlem dev yesterday thanking the Memmy dev for helping with getting their app through some testflight issues.
I use ControlD on my router. On my phone (IOS), I use Aha DNS Blitz because it uses a VPN profile instead of an app, so it protects you on any network you’re connected to (home wifi, mobile data, public wifi, etc.).
On desktop, I have uBlock Origin, Disconnect, Privacy Badger, Clear-URLs, Decentraleyes, Bitwarden, Multi Account Containers and Facebook container, old.reddit (which I no longer use since I left the site), RES (same with old.reddit). I don’t really use a lot of app-specific extensions and I’m more focused on the general privacy and security ones.
Right?? The development of lemmy web and mobile apps these past few weeks have been insanely fast, and we as users are extremely fortunate and spoiled to be getting all these stuff at such a quick pace.
The only thing with kbin is the lack of a mobile app. A lot of newer reddit users don’t even know there’s a website. It might be hard to convince those users to switch to kbin if it doesn’t have a mobile app.
Not really a firefox answer, but you can try Adguard or Aha DNS Blitz. i also recently discovered Orion browser, which allows you to install FF extensions like uBO.
It would be a good idea to explore Linux if you care about all the telemetry Windows collects. There are distros out there that are so user friendly that someone using Windows their entire life can hit the ground running, like Linux Mint.
Protonmail’s interface and mobile app is more refined and faster than Tutanota’s, and PM has more features on their free tier than what Tutanota provides on their free tier. Having said that, both are great email providers. I have accounts on both but I tend to use PM more at this point in time.
mlmym.org if you still have withdrawal symptoms from leaving reddit. When you’re ready for a more modern look, alexandrite.app
