I see a lot of posts about how the death ofTwitter was Musk's goal all along but I think people are giving him far too much credit.
There is another post floating around about how at his other companies there are a whole team of people whose job it is to manage Musk himself so he doesn't do stupid things for attention and honestly, that seems like a far more realistic scenario. He should take them with him wherever he goes because now we can all see what an unsupervised overpaid manchild is capable of.
We had a stormy night last night - there's something so cosy about lying in a warm bed listening to the weather rage outside. Bloody cold this morning but the sun keeps popping out and disappearing again. Hopefully everyone else is managing to keep warm and dry this morning!
No such thing as a fish is the first one I tried but I'm a completionist so have to do them all from the beginning. My queue is currently a mile long but I'll add your recs to it, thanks
After resisting for years I'm finally starting to come around to the concept of podcasts. I have a relatively short walk to work and have started listening to a podcast by a psychologist to see if I can learn any techniques for combating some pretty insistent negative mental habits.
Day one and I'm starting the day in a much better frame of mind. The thought of celebrating with a cheese scone may have something to do with that though, lol.
The standard second guessing! I do that on desktop a lot. Writing on a phone has never been my thing though so I usually talk myself out of posting before I even start
Connect ate my comment, I think. I was going to suggest taking an electrical doodad so you can check all the power sockets; we took a shaver to our final inspection.
I'm having trouble with the space bar but I don't know if its glitchy or if the user is the issue. I like messing with different software just for a change of scenery though so will see. So far the AI is getting all my errors fixed correctly so I haven't had to delete much yet.
Trying out a new keyboard on my phone and getting everything completely wrong, it feels like my thumbs are two sizes too big. Not sure if it's worth it but the swipe thing is meant to be pretty good so we'll see.
I wouldn't mind if the fediverse stays under the radar. It's growing more or less organically and people are here because they want to be, rather than arriving expecting the Next Big Thing. So far, it's been a pretty laid back place and everyone is friendly - I imagine a big news outlet suddenly promoting the place will change that.
On the plus side, I guess there's no incentive for media outlets to promote a system that doesn't splash money around in advertising drives.
Unfortunately our business is prone to having a bunch of people diving through the door in the last ten minutes. But it's all good, at least the days are starting to get longer and I'll be able to enjoy the sun on the walk home in a week or two.
Our dehumidifier burnt out this morning; luckily it went while we were up and moving about (we run it overnight usually). Anyone have any recommendations on a replacement? The only thing I can think of in terms of specs is something that has a night/quiet mode - I'm not sure what else to look for.
