Yeah, I was gifted a raised garden made from a pallet but it only a week for the local wildlife to move in. Herbs are a good idea though, I should try that to ease back into it.
How big is your garden? I love the idea of growing my own veges but I tried it this year and couldn't get past my dislike of ants and spiders enough to actually bring much of it indoors.
I cheated and drove to work this morning. Of course it stopped raining just as I left the house but by then it was too late. Lots of pretty photos around of snow-dusted hills but I'm happy to be tucked up in a nice warm office. Hope everyone is staying warm and dry today!
2Degrees. I'd rate them 10.4 - the connection is pretty reliable and we don't have any trouble with multiple streaming services running at the same time. So long as you have no reason to contact them, they're great but the moment you need assistance it turns into a real mission. They used to be really good but I guess they cut back to about two phone support people and a terrible hold playlist.
That top one looks interesting. I keep buying them off AliExpress and then being surprised when they feel cheap and nasty - although the low profile mechanical Havit I got for work has been amazing.
I think I've been to the movies once since covid and I have no plans to go back. The tickets are too expensive to be ruined by people being on their phones or talking to each other about what happens next. If there was the option to take your own headphones in to drown out the dickheads I'd probably go back.
There was some talk of using old plastic to make new playground equipment too but I'm not sure if anything ever came of it.
In the late 90s there was a show called Beyond 2000 that showcased up and coming technologies. Most of it was about recycling and what we call green tech these days and I often wonder how much better off we'd be if any of it had actually been adopted.
I have a thing for nail polish. I can't help it, it's just OOONEWCOLOURLETSGOOOO. I got two today from a $3 store and the fumes are something else. It might be a cheap hobby but I think this brand is going to be reserved for outdoor use only.
So far the highlight of my morning has been discovering that Sync supports pop out windows for specific threads and communities. It really is the little things, lol.
Yeah, healthy dishes is actually a very tiny separate section at the end and appears to be all stirfrys. Mostly, I'm a little concerned at how many of the desserts require alcohol but I'm nothing if not curious so I'll be buying my first ever bottle of brandy next week.
Went to the dump shop when we did a green waste run at lunchtime, and scored a vintage box of recipes for the princely sum of $4. There are a bunch of handwritten ones tucked away at the back but I'm looking forward to trying such traditional cooking methods as starting with a cup of lard for everything.
I prefer it over reddit for the same reason - everyone is much nicer. The fact that it's so much smaller means that I'm not just staring at an endless feed, expecting to be entertained without participating.
It's also giving me good reason to get back into other hobbies and stop wasting so much time online, which can only be a good thing.
Yeah, I haven't touched mine in years but with all the streaming services ramping prices up and removing stuff I want at the same time I have a sudden appreciation for stuff that I independently own.
I think he looks like the dude on the cover of all the MAD magazines, which make it too hard to take him seriously.
