  • Your reply just raised so many questions but most importantly why would you need a VPN with Jellyfin? I mean it's just server like any other which means install, add certificates or reverse proxy with certificates and if you're behind NAT you would need to setup port forwarding.

    I mean if you're worried about server being exploited if not updated then opening it to the internet wouldn't be good but isn't that the case with Plex already?

  • Well that wasn't in US or Japan but in French court so might not be as easy to pull that bs there. Still I was surprised a bit about the result but I guess it's in line with how France is handling online services now.

  • Nah… I suspect that Sony simply doesn’t want to anger hackers again. The cost of downtime is likely to be higher than the imaginary profits they get from harassing emulator communities. I doubt they think their reputation is worth much but maybe they have started to see some value on it.

    Japanese gaming companies often don't seem to understand the value of the reputation / honor which is really weird considering that it's one of the things japanese culture is supposed to value.
