I occasionally think about all the gametes I'm eating in vegetables. Other than rocky mountain oysters, I'm rarely eating sperm or ova when eating meat. There's roe occasionally, I suppose.
I've traveled quite a bit. The only time I had a problem I was in Russia. I notified my bank of the trip. Tickets were on the card (debit card), initial cash withdrawal there on the card, restaurants, street vendors, stores, online shopping, all on the card. Needed a bit more cash and the ATM ate the card. Luckily I had a credit card from a small credit union that had no such controls.
I won't downvote because obviously we should be using metric, and also it was funny. However, they put it in metric first. We can't help you if you demand metric but can't figure out how big that is.
I'm old. I can use stone age computers. The real barrier is the language. If you can't explain things to me (that knows how to do shit) in terms I've heard before, basically nobody outside of power user, niche users, or software engineers will ever try an OS that you have to learn a new language for just to ask a question. Thank you, that is my longest run-on sentence, and I'm a scientist.
I hate to say this. Really. But as a scientist (in vaccine development), the broader public may never be able to have real discussions of science. I don't ask my neighbor's opinion about the surgery my Hopkins trained doctor recommended. That isn't how science works in the public discourse. I wish it was closer to reality that we were all educated enough that it would be productive.
Or you realize they spent our months rent on a miniature Coleman stove.
