  • Personally think he underestimated the target this would paint on his back. Either that or he knew and was expecting to be caught.

That's the trouble with heroes becoming actual people and likely why media is covering who he is. Instead of being an unknowable symbol of defiance, we now have to grapple with the fact that he is human.

  • Nothing. Purpose implies the potential for failure and while there are certainly circumstances that I would consider personal failures, there are none so great that they would invalidate my existence.

That said, I have a vision for my life and the state of the world that I would like to see realized. I want to see a world where climate change is taken seriously and recognized as the imminent threat that it is. It will be waiting on the other side of every economic crisis or war that man chooses to wage.

  • Is that what everyone is worried about? I'm more worried about the IPs getting turned into something bland or botched releases due to overly aggressive deadlines. Examples being bioware, bungie, infinity ward, and obsidian which were all acquired by larger companies and as a result turned into "meat grinders" responsible only for churning out titles to feed their parent companies.

Before anyone else mentions it, I will say Insomniac has been a success under Sony — releasing spiderman and ratchet and clank. That said, a company is not a person. You cannot trust companies to behave consistently.

  • Check Etsy. Can find some high quality buttons there too usually priced a lot better. Usually some combination of 3D-Printed and silicone-cast resin so lots of glossy options but I have seen matte ones as well. $20-30 range (USD)

  • Ever heard the saying "if one guy is an asshole, he's an asshole. If everyone is an asshole, you're the asshole"?

Not saying you're an asshole, but that is to say you're the only one defending your viewpoint, and you are welcome to it. But we'd all appreciate consideration of the information as opposed to the offense you seem to be taking.

Nuance exists everywhere in our complicated world.

The example that springs to mind is when we discovered that Archimedes invented the foundations of calculus long before Newton and Leibniz. The argument typically goes that the foundations of mathematics would be much further along had this discovery been realized but many others argue that we would have had no practical way to apply it in the time that Archimedes lived.

Now the part that I think you are missing is that the interesting part is not only that we now know that a new number is prime, but that knowing that a number is prime involves verifying that a number is prime and the larger the number is, the more difficult it is to verify so this almost always involves landmark advances in math and computing. Especially since prime numbers are distributed asymptotically meaning they are typically a few orders of magnitude larger than the previous one.
