He convinced the government to subsidize the sale of his products to consumers. It makes sense on paper because we want more people driving electric cars. However, Tesla of all companies doesn’t deserve the “handout”, even though it’s to consumers. They don’t deserve the boost in sales, recognition, etc.

It’s not technically a scam (the best kind!) but it’s helping out the richest man and biggest asshole in the world, so it might as well be.

I am so sorry for your loss. Peaches looks similar to our Wally, though he’s still a young dude I know the day will come. Please try to hold onto the simple fact that her life was awesome because she had you. It sucks having to go on without them but I’ve always tried to focus on the gratitude for getting to be there from the start to the end for them, and that they won’t have to suffer the loss of us.

They’ll throw six or seven figures at some charity owned by another rich asshole friend and call themselves Saints. I assume that’s how they trick themselves into thinking they’re anything but parasites.

It’s not all proof of work. Crypto at its core is less a scam than, for example, the US dollar because it cannot be counterfeited, it can’t be privately fucked with, and everything that happens is auditable by the parties that need to, and not for those who don’t. It’s a far better foundation than what banks have built, which is effectively a bunch of shared ledgers but with humans at the helm.
