Hey guys, would you like to hear about how the only good political system is the one where you seize power and suppress all dissent with ruthless violence? If you disagree with any of this you are obviously a CIA shill.

Reddit won because the entire point was to shake out the outspoken troublemakers and pivot to the Facebook and Instagram crowd which is seen as easier to monetize.

But I am fine criticizing the US and acknowledging US propaganda. I do it all the time. You are the one dismissing anything which doesn't align with a very narrow ML head-cannon as indicative of being a US intelligence asset. And you are telling me to have an open mind?

Buddy, there is an entire world of socialist thought and literature which diverges from and challenges ML dogma. Either you are unaware of this, or you are so narrow minded that you see anything outside of that script as some monolithic enemy.

"Not a fascist" is only a sufficient condition in this case because the other guy is a fascist. I agree that in a world which wasn't fucking insane, both candidates would qualify as "not a fascist" and it would be immaterial.

But under these circumstances - yes. Voting "Not a fascist" is literally an imperative, if imperatives can possibly exist at all in our ethical landscape.

I've heard very few good ideas which can fit into 160 characters.

A big part of my gripe here is precisely the idea that one can engage in critical analysis of statecraft, while hand waving away inconvenient statecraft. Or worse - supporting broad censorship of inconvenient statecraft.

The thing is, I get they are trolling. It's just dumb and obnoxious. Also, kinda cringe, and definitely counterproductive.

I think your willingness to even make an effort at this kind of engagement is refreshing, but I also this this is sadly, a very low bar.

Room temp superconducting magnets should make motors and power generation a bit more efficient. Magnetic plasma confinement gets a shit load easier as well.

The tankies on Lemmy absolutely give it a blanket endorsement. Trust me I've tried many times to seek a real discussion on this topic. Specifically with regard to the hukou caste system and lack of public trials. I think this is very low hanging fruit tbh.
