  • Because nobody in the LGBT community is targeting kids with anything, so when you make that implication, you are perpetuating an offensive and recently extremely dangerous stereotype which has actually gotten people killed already.

Just in case you aren't actually trolling and legitimately don't understand this.

  • I fucking abhor how all information on the internet has become videos instead of text plus pictures. Very rarely does video add anything useful, and you can't easily search it or quote it. It's such a stupid way to share basic information 99% of the time.

  • Ladders are legitimately one of the leading causes of death and serious injury among otherwise healthy middle aged adults. A basic fall protection system with some flex rope and a climbing harness can be had for around $100. I don't care if my neighbors think I'm a dweeb, I'm not dying for clean gutters.

  • The first one was botted as well near the end. I know because I wrote a tool to do it in about an hour using my private bot farm I had been building for years. I never gave it to anyone else because it was sloppy and integrated with the bot creation tools I had, and that would have revealed all of the tricks I used to create and protect the bot horde. But I used it myself, and I assume I was far from the only one with the same idea.

The interesting thing is that reddit basically condoned it. They are usually pretty decent at detecting bots if you don't take measures to make them look human, but with place (at least the first time) they seemed to intentionally have that functionality disabled. I kind of assumed that they doing it specifically as a bit detection scheme, but they never cleaned house afterwards like I expected.

  • I think there are some legitimate concerns here though. Not necessarily of the ideology the primary devs, but the way it manifests with a soft ban on certain topics (Ukraine), and how they seem fine letting lemmygrad trolls shut down basically every other world news thread. And I'm not talking about people having different opinions here - I'm talking about users who openly state that they seek to disrupt discussion in order to deny the information space to non-ML ideas entirely. I have reported a number of these comments which are blatantly and openly stating that they only intend to troll and disrupt and nothing ever happens. Yet if you take a slightly wrong tone in responding to the sel-avowed trolls they are quite quick with the ban hammer.
