  • twoodfrd - the guy repairs guitars with his soothing voice and lots of technicial knowledge

  • as a trans person, I'm not offended by y'all in the slightest

  • it does have the deficit of not having anybody i regularly watch on there, although i would love that to change

  • yeah i basically only use lemmy and watch youtube videos, or i pirate media, play games with friends, or do stupid stuff with my computer that i shouldnt be allowed to do

  • id rather advocate for is the demolishing of all borders and the guarantee of helping every person on the planet no matter what.

  • honestly this is more feasible than brexit imo (not advocating for it)

  • if voting made no difference, then why do they try their hardest to prevent poor people and minorities from voting?

  • yeah im not saying mozilla will be our savior, and ladybird/servo are promising but nowhere near complete. the biggest difference is that firefox is open source, you can build the browser with none of that stuff in it, and yeah thats not easy for most users, but most users dont care and wont do it anyways. chrome on the other hand, yeah chromium is "open source" but most of the important stuff that chrome based browsers actually use are not open source, and they are more than willing to take features away from users because if they didnt they would lose money, just like how they have done with manifest v3 and adblockers. at the end of they day we dont have a good browser, and thats a shame, because its a really insurmountable task without proper funding.

  • ahh yes brave, the browser that has built in crypto scams, will add affiliate links so they can make money off your purchases, is built on Chrome so has no pretense of privacy anyways, and was created by a guy who donated to anti lgbtq causes. I'm sure they are the ones who will save us from those evil corps who want our data.

  • well if you didn't know now you do and can avoid this kind of interaction again if your so worried about it

  • have you tried the flatpak? it should include any dependencys you need. im on arch and it works great from the aur, but i know that does not really help you.

  • I'm not looking at any of your recommendations so I have no idea if you would like this but I really enjoy twoodfrd, he makes videos about repairing guitars and other string instruments, very relaxing, soothing voice, and lots of fascinating info about guitars

  • prim is the best launcher imo, I wouldn't use anything else personally.
