Ha, I wasn't even talking about that one. I think I stopped watching before then because he just went in deep with the sponsors and it was clear he wasn't actually caring about the science anymore. The one I'm talking about he 'proved' that wet wipes are flushable.
I don't remember which video it was, I'd have to go find it. At the end he sets up a 'science experiment' to show that wet wipes are flushable, unlike what everyone says. And the way he 'proves' it is clearly a terrible way to prove it, but if you aren't thinking about it you'll agree. I'll try to find the video.
Veritasium. As soon as he put out a video with sponsored content where he lied with science I immediately knew he could no longer be trusted. I completely stopped watching his videos that day.
…. That’s not what CSAM is. It’s literally in the name. abuse. CSAM requires abuse of a child. Just like pictures of your kids in the bath isn’t illegal, AI generated content is going to need to be provably linked to abuse in order to meet the definition. I seriously doubt it ever will be. You seem to have a fundamental misunderstanding of the entire situation, overreacted so much so that you might have gotten people in serious legal trouble, and are now trying to justify it because you think that the current solutions aren’t going to protect against CSAM.
I literally linked a software that does what yours does, but is already used, already proven to work, and also has the benefit of being the backup to the hash based mechanism instead of being the primary mode of filtering.
Dude, I was trying to be nice how I approached you earlier, but you clearly are unwilling to accept that you have made a massive mistake here, not only by not reading up on the laws, but not even fundamentally understanding the problem space. This is not good software engineering.
There’s a place in Colorado called Buena Vista, yes, named in Spanish for good view. The locals all state that it’s Spanish. But they want it to be unique, so no, it’s not pronounced bwena. It’s fucking pronounced byunah. They literally know they’re pronouncing it wrong, they claim that it’s Spanish, and then they still say you’re pronouncing it wrong if you actually say it correctly.
I replaced google with Kagi. It’s much much much better. So much better that I’m literally willing to pay for a search engine. It just doesn’t compare.
Solar isn’t the only renewable energy, and not even the only one you can install per household. Geothermal never stops, can be installed in your lawn, and has almost zero maintenance. Wave generation and offshore wind farms also provide round the clock energy.
Honestly dude, you do whatever you want. I didn’t want to have this conversation in the first place because I knew you would argue. You wouldn’t build the software in the first place if you thought that the other solutions worked so clearly you hadn’t done your research, including into applicable laws. At this point you’re just fighting to justify having built a pointless tool that can get you in legal trouble. I guarantee that if you talked to a lawyer they would tell you to stop using your own software for this, but clearly you don’t care about that. You built something and you want to justify its existence, so you keep arguing for it and against proven legal solutions.
The situation Has dramatically changed in the the past year. I am telling you but you seem to be in denial.
What situation? You haven’t told me anything about anything changing in the last year.
Likewise currently you're unprotected. As such my previous statement applies: good luck!
Huh? What previous statement? You’re not protected. You just think you are! You literally claimed that your product has lots of false positives. It most definitely has false negatives too.
All in all, I will stop using Brave in a heartbeat if there is anyone else providing any alternative with a slight chance to fight Surveillance Capitalism.
Your first item in the list literally says “I like the idea” not “this is a requirement”. Then later on you literally say “all in all”, indicating that the only thing that matters to you is what you are about to say next. Maybe you speak English as a second language, but I literally only have what you wrote to go on. And what you wrote was clear that all that mattered was the final sentence
found it. https://youtu.be/5zI9sG3pjVU?t=983
there's even people in the comments that don't realize the experiment was bad science and think that maybe these wipes are 'different'
more people actually saying they're going to switch to flushable wipes.
