  • Jam some strategic locations, like air travel hubs or highly populated areas for the highest impact. No need to jam wide open low population areas without military targets.

  • MAGA folks claim to have lots of things and never deliver because their stupid cult following doesn't actually care about whether something they want to believe is factual.

They just want to be angry.

  • Not for a clutch kick, for conditions where steering without acceleration OR deceleration is safer. The best I can think of is gradual turns in icy conditions where it felt a lot more grippy in neutral at slow speeds.

Pretty rare, just a curiosity thing and without a pedal to gradually get back in gear it wouldn't be the same anyway.

  • Can they be put in neutral at high speed and switched back to a gear at speed?

  • What a manual transmission offers is the feeling of being in full control.

Being able to maintain a gear selection and being able to directly control the clutch are huge advantages in specific conditions like extreme weather or some off road terrain. A surprise shift during a curve in icy conditions makes me nervous every time for example.

If an automatic system allowed for direct control of gears and the ability to disengage and reingage the clutch on demand it would cover those scenarios.

  • I checked, and no I did not.

The decades long overreaction was known in 2016.

  • In an article from 2016 that makes the age clearer:

Nearly 30 years ago, Graydon Carter, the editor of Vanity Fair magazine, described Trump in Spy magazine as a “short-fingered vulgarian.”

The short fingered vulgarian quote is now almost 40 years old.

  • Trump had a known decades long overreaction to some reporter calling him a short fingered vulgarian when he ran in 2016.

Congrats on the Dems for finally using that to their advantage I guess.

  • Even worse, you don't need CSAM to start with. If a learning model has regular porn and nude reference model photography of people under 18 that are used for drawing anatomy, then they have enough information to combine the two. Hell, it probably doesn't even need the people under 18 to actually be nude.

Hell, society tends to assume any nudity inder 18 to be CSAM anyway, because someone could see it that way.

  • Maybe the rest of your family is just so used to it they ignore it.

  • Calm your tits bro.

Explaining something looks like a racist stereotype doesn't mean someone is riled up.

  • Since the racist caricature is based on equating east Asian people to rats, it was a reasonable assumption.

    I regret nothing.

  • All listed prices should be the final maximum cost for any specific product. "Additional fees may apply" should not be allowed, as they exist to deceive the user about the final cost.

Upcharges for additional things is fine, as long as the customer knows what the additional cost is.

Also, tipping needs to fuck off and all employees need to be paid a living wage. If businesses can't pay a living wage they don't need to exist.

  • Although Telegram does use end-to-end encryption, it isn’t the default option. Many users don’t know this; they automatically assume their conversations are 100% secure.

On the other hand, the app does nothing to inform them about the “Secret Chat” option. Once a user kick-starts a new chat, Telegram stays silent about options other than the default.

Look, if this was an app that allowed for E2EE on all communication and did not store any of the communication on some company's servers I would be saying France is completely 100% wrong. France is wrong in saying the encryption is the problem, but they are partially right about Telegram not complying with legal requirements as it does not encrypt all communication and it should be obligated to comply with criminal investigations just like they would be obligated if they were a mail delivery service.

Just because something is on the internet doesn't mean it isn't subject to warrants. If a company can be compelled to provide written documentation in their possession, the same is true for electronic. That company should not be obligated to undermine their own encryption though.

  • Although I chuckled, time to be a killjoy!

This image is racist because Tom has east Asian caricature features of the buck teeth and closed eyes, and is in a cartoonishly small bed as east Asian people are often shorter compared to the western average height. My first thought was the the joke was that Tom has to squint, another racist trope, because the poor video card can't handle the high resolution.

My second thought was that he was too big for the bed, which appears to be the actual joke. Sadly it was spoiled because of the overt racism in the chosen image so it just got a chuckle for the real punchline.
