That is because society on all levels deserves it. We need to stop with the expectation that people in certain jobs or positions deserve respect just because of their job or position. They only deserve respect if they earn it.

If they don't earn respect, fuck em.

In a vacuum, sure. But with the context they were able to get the result they wanted by doing sitting out.

Whether or not the air circulation in a plane is perfect, airports are giant petri dishes of people from all over sharing their local versions of diseases. I wouldn't worry too much about the plane when the pretzel shop is right there.

There are quite a few things I enjoy in music, literature, and hobbies where a significant portion of the people who also like it are unbearable by making it part of their personality instead of something they enjoy. Anyone who identifies as a fan of something instead of saying they enjoy something is likely to be unbearable about that thing.

I enjoy some Dylan songs because of the melody since the words are gibberish to me.

While I agree when their jackassery is due to them being a racist/misogynist/homophobe/etc. that letting them stick around is a good sign the rest of those in power are also terrible, sometimes they are just a jackass because of having an abrasive personality or jumping into conversations and being annoying about some subject they care too much about. Think less malicious and more juvenile to the point that blocking them is necessary to enjoy the rest of the community.

I have found zero tolerance means that no place will be acceptable. But yes, if blocking is due to them being hateful then it isn't worth sticking around.

Overplayed and over hyped, hearing their music frequently reminds me of their fans who gush about how so very significant and genius everything they ever did was. Their fandom drags down their music for me, and their music is just OK without all the social context of when it was made.

In a lot of communities there is frequently one jackass in power while everyone else in power is cool, and being able to ignore that one person is helpful to avoid their behavior from spoiling the fun of the community for me.

Gut-wrenchingly awful. The senior people responsible need to lose their livelihoods, pensions, life savings, homes and good names.

For example, restaurant probably aren't possible if waiters and back of house are all paid 30/h.

Somehow in every country other than the US they are able to pay restaurant staff a living wage.

UBI would not replace the need for universal healthcare.
