All of the Covenant designs are meant to be very organic looking. In the novels, the ships and such are described as "looking like undersea predators"

It's not instant, but I definitely get very sleepy after orgasm a lot of the time. Like, out within 1-2min max. But I can also fall asleep basically anywhere at any time if I want to. Anker is basically the only phone accessory brand I use. Now that iPhone moved to USB-C, Costco finally carries USB-C cables and they sell a really nice set of Anker cables, and Costco vouching for them tells me all I need to know.

There's a big difference if you're talking with a friend about something stupid they did, and saying "You're such an idiot lol" and "You're such an idiot." One is teasing them, the other is chastising them.

It's not like some people might be harder on phone batteries and need to replace them sooner, or enjoys just setting their phone down to charge it, or has expensive non-BT headphones they want to use because BT compresses the audio and BT mics are absolutely horrible compared to even dollar store earbuds.

But, as we established, those people don't exist because you are literally the only person on this planet that uses a smartphone, so the entire global market can cater to your use cases and no one else's, and it's great they have gotten rid of all those features just for you.

I mean, if you look at what happened during the BSE outbreak in the UK, this is basically exactly what happened. There was a politician who even fed his 4 year old kid a burger on TV to show how perfectly safe the meat was.

Generally, I'm all for things that limit emissions and improve safety. I always thought they were a PITA, but couldn't really be that much worse than the ones I see people use at the track usually.

I finally picked one up because it was all they had at the store, and holy shit those "safety tanks" are a nightmare by comparison. They spill so much fuel and after only a couple of years the seals on mine have gone bad and leak even more. I still would like to add a flame arrestor into the necks, but it amazes me at how awful they are.

I wholly understand why they exist and what all the safety features are for (preventing fuel from spilling if they're tipped/dropped, releasing fuel vapors, etc) but they seem utterly useless when I inevitably spill at least half a cup of fuel per 5 gal, just due to how poorly they're made.

Coming from out west, Menards was absolutely next level for doing house projects.

I've got a buddy whose father is a handyman/electrician in Germany, and comes over to the US fairly regularly. He was astonished at how helpful hardware store employees (specifically Menards) are here, and his jaw almost dropped when they actually went with us to try and find an item.

You know that you can use drills and saws more than once, and for more than one kind of thing, right? I've used the same drill for plumbing, electrical, woodworking, and probably 100 other projects at this point. A basic mechanics set and a basic combo kit of power tools from any hardware store will allow you to do 90% of projects around your house, and will take up about as much space as a medium moving box.

It's definitely become a thing within the past decade, especially with products/ads directed more towards women. Remember that obese is not "Jabba the Hutt" levels of fat, and someone who looks like this is far past obese at 5'4" (1.61m) and 200lbs (90kg). Then, you have companies like Dove ( with ads like their "Body Positive Trailer" showing characters that are well past Class III obesity. That's an extreme example, but it's become quite common overall to show severely overweight people as "normal"

Companies have realized that people are getting fatter and fatter globally, so like any good capitalists they're going to take advantage of it. It shouldn't come as any surprise that Dove is owned by Unilever, who is also the world's largest producer of ice cream, and suddenly their push for "body positivity" makes a bit more sense.

Now, before people go and attack me, I think that there have been many positive changes in how people are being more realistically portrayed in media and appreciate the push for more realistic body standards. Shaming people for looking "different" is not okay, and that includes being overweight.

However, what's not okay in my mind is how quickly it's become "being severely overweight is totally okay if you #slay queen, yaaaas". I've noticed a growing trend of these types of ads, generally portraying black/PoC women (who are already statistically far more likely to become obese) who are hundreds of pounds overweight as doing all kinds of "fitness" and/or "boss babe" kinds of activities, which seems like they are trying to convince the broader audience that it's totally okay to be 200-300lbs overweight because this obese black girl was shown wearing athletic wear.

In my many years on the internet, I've seen my share of fucked up shit, but that scene is still by far one of the most unsettling things I've ever seen.

Ford Maverick or Hyundai Santa Fe Cruz are basically the only 2 options
