This was an issue in a recent version. The current version is v1.0.275. If you don't have an update option, there should be an option to join the beta on the Connect Play Store or App Store page. Usually it takes a few minutes but sometimes it can take a few hours to enroll.
Perhaps some combination of settings is behind this. What are your text option, post, and comment text sizes? It looks like 0.875, small, and small, but just to confirm. Also, you've tried forcing closing Connect and reopening?
If Connect is the only app you noticed this then it may not be the launcher. I've sometimes seen font size issues after adjusting the text option setting but that gets resolved after reopening Connect.
Does the issue occur every time or just sometimes? Also, are there other posts with this problem?
That one comment in the screenshot does have a smaller font size. I don't think I've seen that, at least that I've noticed. I opened that post on my phone and the comments all seemed to be the same size. I think we're using the same font size settings as well so I'm not sure why the variance. Just to confirm, you're on v1.0.275?
The font size was increased slightly app-wide, I think to address readability that someone raised. There are a few settings that you can adjust. The first is the "Text size option", which you'll find by scrolling down a bit on the Settings page. I think bumping it down to 0.875 will bring it back to the old font size. You may find that makes the comment text size smaller, which you can change by tapping on "Comment Customization" in Settings. There's also a text size adjustment for post titles in "Post Customizations."
That's my experience with list view though. If you use card view, I'm not sure if they were different.
After you opt to join, the prompt window in the Play Store mentions it takes some time to get enrolled. Usually it's a couple of minutes but sometimes it takes a few hours.
This was an issue in v1.0.269. It has been fixed so you just need to update the app. You may need to join the beta if you don't see an update option. Joining the beta can be done on the Play Store or App Store of your device.
You just need to tap on that Join button to update to v271. I thought v269 was part of the beta as well but I guess not.
After you upload a picture with Connect, you should get a URL. Under the area where you input your comment, there's a toolbar of buttons. The leftmost one can be used to insert multiple pictures.
v271 is the latest version so I'm not sure why it's not showing up. Maybe search for Connect for Lemmy and see if that refreshes with the update option?
Sometimes bugs are intermittent so who knows. I rarely download images so I might not even notice it. So it's good to have different perspectives.
I'm not seeing the problem on v1.0.269 or v271. After tapping on the image, I can see the download button at the bottom and tapping on the three dots at the bottom right brings up a context menu that also has a download button. If this isn't the case for you, what version are you on? The version can be seen at the top of the Settings page.
On the Block List page, if you scroll down using the left side of the screen, you should see the list of communities and blocked users. If you visit your home blahaj.zone and view your Blocks page in Settings, the communities and users you block in Connect should also be on this list.
If the above is not the case, what version of Connect are you using? The version can be found at the top of Settings.
Below the title of every post should be a tappable link for the community. Wiith this post for example, there should be a "lemmyconnect" link below, "View community from post menu." Tapping on that doesn't take you to the community page?
So I tried leaving 0.875 scaling but changing to medium text size and it looks bigger than before. So going even smaller or super large is actually inapplicable to my Goldilocks preference.
I think I had it at 1 scaling and small text size already. I'm at 0.875 and small at the moment. Comment text size could be slightly bigger and everything else is fine for me.
I think the community and user button was removed to reduce the size of that particular overflow menu, which can help with the user interface on devices with smaller screens and or lower resolution screens. It seemed like a decent compromise since tapping directly from the feed would be faster.
I suggested the removal in a post but it didn't solicit any replies opposed to the idea. Maybe it was a bad suggestion and I'm curious to hear the specifics of what people dislike about the change. Like I'm still trying to get used to not tapping on the community name at the top, when you're viewing a post, to visit the community; which was changed to refresh the post like a while back. So I can understand developing muscle memory and having to adjust to changes. Is the change annoying because of a forced workflow change or like loss of functionality?
Maybe the dev might have further questions but yeah I'm not sure what it could be in this case.
