  • I'd rather not have bots posting outside bot communities. It's annoying seeing them here.

  • While I don't have the answers I did attempt to write a book for fun many years ago. It was quite an eye opening experience, because it turns out writing a book is hard, and very time consuming. I was only about 20 pages in before I gave up the idea.

That said, you don't have to actually write a book. Writing creative essays, short stories, and even articles can be very rewarding without needing any long-term commitments. I'd give those a shot before jumping into something as big as making a real book. I still enjoy writing and I'm sure you will too, but you need a ton of commitment to make a book.

  • g2a and similar websites are grey market websites. That means they're not literally illegal, but most of their keys are usually gotten illegally. Sometimes (it's rare, but it happens) people buy keys and they get revoked later if Steam confirms it was stolen. I wouldn't use them at all if you care about giving the developers their money, you might as well pirate it.

Meanwhile there are legit websites like Fanatical that do sell cheap mystery keys. Most of them are shovelware they're trying to get rid of, don't bother.

  • Games with Gold literally gave you ownership of a game.

Did they? I was under the impression that the games you collect with Gold won't start if your subscription runs out similar to PS+.

  • The origin of the name is actually told in Lemmy's GitHub page, it's not just the Motorhead singer and Lemmings:

    Why's it called Lemmy?

So basically the name came from an amalgam of things the lead dev liked.

  • Just a $1 difference between getting 25 games and the entire game pass library? They really want to boost their subscriber counts huh.

  • This is probably in response to the dam being built in the Nile river that might limit the amount of water Egypt recieves.

  • Yeah, the links I've posted are Ruffle-powered.

  • I was coming to comment this. I've used a lot of free video editing software over the years and most of them are ass. The ones that aren't usually have a catch like watermarking your output. Davinci resolve came out of nowhere for me and blew me away, it's everything you could want in a video editing program but free!

  • It's actually impressive that someone would order a manga and have no idea that it's read right to left

  • Oh boy, unfortunately most Flash games aren't playable on the web yet, else I'd be name-dropping like 200 games.

Everyone has to play Sonny 2 at some point. It's a genuine masterpiece of turn based RPGs despite being a 14 year old flash game. The atmosphere is amazing. The music is banging. The build variety is immense.

All the blue elephant games like This is the only level and Achievement Unlocked are also classics. Many of them don't work on Ruffle yet though.

No-one has to die is a story-driven choose your own adventure that's surprisingly good.

I could go on and on but for a start you should all try these!

  • Oh come on, I just started using it two days ago! Libreddit often doesn't work these days.

  • I'm sure it feels awesome with a Dualsense, I've heard a lot about the adaptivr triggers on this game. I've played it with an 8bitdo controller and the game was still pretty fun, the controls felt nice regardless.

  • I’ll have to check out Returnal, I’ve heard mixed reviews

The game had technical issues on release but they've since been resolved, I've played it recently and had no issues. It's fun but pretty short so I'd buy it on sale.

  • Ahhh I remember the feeling of upgrading to a new GPU after ditching my 1050 earlier this year. Here's some games that can stress test your new rig:

    • God of War
    • Red Dead Redemption 2
    • Cyberpunk 2077
    • Returnal
    • Spider-Man Remastered
    • Control
    • Forza Horizon 5 or Dirt 5

Also while Elden Ring isn't as demanding as technically impressive as other games it can look quite beautiful.

  • You should give it a shot, it's pretty fun and West of Loathing isn't that long to finish.

  • Nothing beats stacking so much TNT and blowing it up for your screen to freeze for 20 seconds, only to show you one frame of everything going to hell before freezing again
