I'm not a US citizen but I agree with this. Biden was a weak leader and everyone was praying he gets off the stage every time he talked in the 2024 elections. He stepped down too late, Kamala had very little time to set up a campaign, and everything she said made it sound like she's Biden 2.0, including supporting wars that alienated people voting for her. When your entire campaign is based on "at least we're not the other side!" and nothing else, there is no enthusiasm to support you.

They need to do better next time :P

Thank you! There are definitely a lot of politics communities on Lemmy, so I'm a huge fan of not having them leak into casual communities like this.

You can do a lot of things by pirating. Most people aren't interested in loading a Switch emulator and downloading roms.

Have you tried running it with Repentogon? It optimized mod performance and has an options menu to adjust performance settings.

I agree so much, but it's not even the "follow a friendly NPC while they talk" quests that get me. This game also has "follow the villain without getting caught" quests which are mind-numbingly boring. They move like a tortoise and look behind them once every minute or something to make sure you're not standing right behind them. They're insultingly dumb and treat me like I've never played a video game before.

Yup, but that's my opinion of most open world games anyways. There's a lot of Ubisoft-esque content like "free this stronghold" or sidequests that involve you slowly following an NPC and they get old very quickly. The combat also doesn't evolve that much, so I found myself bored around the halfway point.

You're missing out, Repentance is amazing. They're all on sale right now for the 10th anniversary so it's a good time to get them.

The modding community really is insane. There are a couple of fan-made expansions like Fiend Folio that massively overhaul everything. I hope this update tries not to break mod support.

I remember playing it on release... Feels like a lifetime ago. Usually it'd feel like less but 10 years checks out for me here.

They both have very similar average scores though.

462k are the people that have created an account, Lemmy actually has ~40k active users (and even then "active" just means they logged in once this month). I do share the sentiment that not everything has to be super popular but Lemmy really could use more people.

I watched some videos for the game and I'm genuinely baffled by how bad the writing in this game is. The rest of the game looks fine but most of the dialogue really is Forespoken territory. I think SkillUp put it best when he said "It's written like the HR is in the room"

The time and effort people put into these games never ceases to amaze me. This looks very impressive.

I remember the series on Newgrounds, it's a fun time.

MediEvil. It's not a horror game, but I always think of it as the game that carries the Halloween feeling the best.

Star Citizen is a game that exists, so sure, maybe "scam" isn't the right word for it, but they're still insanely sketchy. They constantly make promises they never meet, constantly beg the community for more funding when they already have an outrageous amount of funding, add insanely overpriced microtransactions to try to profit off whales, etc...

SC is driven by hype and nothing else. So many years later it still runs like ass and is very barebones, there's a giant question mark on where all that money went and how the project is being handled. No Man's Sky had a fraction of the budget and size and they managed to do so much more.

At best it's the worst managed video game project of all time.

Also the title is so misleading because it acts like it's missing a vital component when most people really wouldn't care about alternate covers..

Yeah, a lot of manufacturers are just bad. I knew people who had Dell and MSI laptops and those things feel like toys. Cheap plastic and very wobbly hinges. The only manufacturer I genuinely trust is Lenovo. My Legion is a bit thick but I can at least rest easy that it's built well.
