Hi Kuro! Thanks for developing this great app. It has been very useful for former RiF user like me.
I would like to hear your opinion on the thing that has been requested for several times: function of long pressing a comment. In my opinion there should be either an option to disable long press entirely or an option to select which function it has. For example some people have requested a text selection functionality.
In addition to my initial post about this feature request I have seen two other people make posts about it, e.g. this and I've seen some mentions of it on other threads too so it seems I'm not the only one who needs this.

I have requested this feature before. Either an option to select an alternate function for long press or an option to disable long press entirely. I tend to scroll slow so I often hide some comments even if I didn't mean to.
Me too. Rip in pieces, Reddit. Good thing I have gotten used to Lemmy and good apps for it have been developed quickly (I use Connect).
I couldn't be bothered to get used to RedReader as it's little bit different from RiF which was one of the best (if not the best) Android apps in regards to UI/UX. I do have the RedReader installed though in case I have to open a reddit url or look up something but I'm not interested in using it for longer periods. So I guess the lurking stops here.
The ship is sinking slowly so getting off of Reddit has been a gradual process.

Videolla näkyvistä päätteistä huomaa miksi vielä nykykoneiltakin löytyvä muinaisjäänne ed editori oli joskus käyttökelpoinen. Sen seuraaja vi variantteineen sen sijaan on edelleen loistava editori. Ehkä nykyäänkin voisi vielä pärjätä yksinkertaisella videopäätteellä jolla vi aikoinaan pyöri.
I love simple controls or an elegant way to control simply. For example using one thumb to control two buttons simultaneously or the Super Mario Run control scheme where you only press on the touch screen, doesn't matter where, and that's it.
I hate it when in co-op game the other player's actions can screw up the game e.g. moving the screen too far so the other player dies.
Or maybe similar pagination to Rif: endless scroll but with page numbers after every N number of posts. After seeing the page number 20 fly by you can ask yourself "what the hell am I even doing?".
Tasohyppelystä tuli mieleen että onhan olemassa myös alun alkaen suomenkielinen sana luolalentely. En pikaisella googlettamisella löytänyt muunkielistä käännöstäkään, joten taitaa olla käsitteenä tunnettu lähinnä Suomessa. Esim. englanninkielinen Wikipedia kuvaa Turborakettia sanoin a space dog fight game.
Mikäs vika ohjaimessa? Mulla on ainakin joy-conit toimineet hyvin toistaiseksi eli reilun vuoden. Ei ole minkäänlaista "driftailua" vaikka sitähän näille Switchin ohjaimille lupaillaan vaivaksi. Isoin ongelma on se, että motion control tökkii välillä kun switch on kauempana ohjaimista.
Yksittäinen NEIPA ylsi jopa neljännelle sijalle. En kyllä ymmärrä lagerin suosiota. Itselle maistuu enimmäkseen IPA. Toki lager on tietyssä mielessä kevyempi kesäolut, mutta kyllä joku vahvasti humaloitu ei niin raskaan maltainen IPA maittaa kesälläkin oikein hyvin. Lagerin suosiota edesauttaa luultavasti myös se, että suosion myötä se on halpaa ja halvat asiat ovat suosittuja.
I agree. I guess it's part of the UI decision that the side bar is some kind of home/root view that couldn't be accessed until you go all the way back by tapping the back button. In my opinion the side bar should be available everywhere in the app.
To copy the whole comment you can open the kebab menu of the comment and select Copy Text but I don't think it's possible to select just a portion of the text in thread view. In reply view it seems to work by long pressing the comment. So you have to click reply in order to select text.
