  • In 2025, I think it's overly simplistic to think of what people say strictly in terms of "like" and "dislike", as opposed to different moods. It does make for a good polling system though.

  • Same. Those are ultra common here. Enough to know Jehovah's Witnesses stopped visiting people in their homes a few years ago. These days they pretend to be your new neighbor and give you an "invitation" to the places they like to go.

  • There are two answers because my first language is different from the native language, so I often have to elaborate. I was born in a Pacific Islander community that had a pidgin that was a hybrid between Tahitian and English. When spoken, Tahitian is straightforward, but written Tahitian, even (or especially) in English, is (or was) a literary frontier, in the sense where if you asked how to spell something, nothing was firm.

    The best shelters and zoos never have issues like the carpet incident because every big or small aspect and nook and cranny is catered. They don't buy generic room brands for example.
