By having those privileged access doesn't it have an implication regarding the tone of the review you're making? If you shat on the game that the publisher gave you access to there might be a possibility that they won't invite you to future events?

This had happened on PC component review space. I remembered that LTT used to get review units for Apple products, but because of their reviews mostly just shat on Apple products, Apple basically stopped inviting them to events and sending review units.

If you're working with clients that requires you to have security certifications it can be a real pain in the ass to certify your setup for everything vs just using the 365 stack.

Yep, my deal with my landlord is if there's anything that needs fixing I'll fix it myself and if I spend any money I'll just forward him the invoice and he'll deduct it from my rent. Although others don't have the same situation as myself, I think there's a place for landlords to exist.

So you expect me to buy another house when my kid is old enough that I don't need help from my in-laws and spend much more money after the housing price goes up.

My landlord is in a similar position as mine, soon after he bought the house I'm staying in he got assigned to work abroad for five years and decided to rent the house for cheap. I did the same expecting the tenants would act like me.

TBH compared to the old versioning system people used to use like SVN and Mercurial. Git is a godsend. Just taking your time in learning and not using a GUI client works wonders in learning how it works. Especially when all the GUI clients are basically a collection of commands being executed so if you fuck things up on CLI you know what happened vs using GUI.

So here's a story from other side of a coin. When I got married I decided to get a small house in the suburbs as my work is remote so I can work from anywhere. But after getting a baby me and my SO decided that we would live near my in-laws house to help with taking care of my baby for the time being. So we rented a house near my in-laws and to keep the house occupied I decided to rent out the house for a cheap price. It's basically half the market price. Soon enough I got a renter. Being too trusting of others I decided to not ask for a deposit because the people renting are basically a friend of a friend.

But after they finished their rental period when I came to the house it was basically wrecked, they destroyed the toilets, one of the doors, and generally left the place in shambles. It's amazing what kind of damage you can do in a short period of time, and the amount of money that I spent fixing the damage is more than the rent money that I got.

Yep just give the community a good base and let them self organize. Maybe throw in a sponsorship here or there. But don't make that shit yourself.

The thing with LLMs is that they learn from existing tech and use cases. My work is niche enough that LLMs are unable to make meaningful contributions on the code side. However your assessment is true where an overzealous junior dev can make a lot of shit stuff faster because they don't really understand the code the LLM spits out.

As for myself, I mostly use it to help breakdown requirements so I can better work thru it, help me think up edge cases for tests, and be an interactive rubber duck when debugging an issue.
