Frankly, i think buying military equipment is stupid from the outset. Buy the designs if you really gotta have a third party design, but a government should be the sole hand in all of its most important programs/functions. It's like private healthcare or private infrastructure, it's too important to leave in the hands of a bad economic system.

All the old person BS is just that. Anyone who chooses to stop learning has actively made a choice, being old doesn't just turn your brain to mush.

There are a ridiculous number of functional militaries in America and most of them bow to corporate interests.

Democracy, inheritance, blood sport, etc. Technocracy would (probably) only be part of the title of a ruling system, America is a republic but also a democracy.

What's wrong is that definitions don't mean anything these days. Maybe ever. Technocracy now refers to oligarchy but with tech CEOs specifically. I would also prefer a system where there are technical requirements before you when get the chance to try to get power.
