Welcome to this little corner of the internet. I feel you on not being able to just sit around and hoping it blows over. I had a rather traumatic epiphany back in 2019 that I wasn't going to be able to sit on the sidelines while fascism takes hold. I feel a lot better nowadays despite everything going on because I started finding people in my local community who felt the same way and wanted to make tangible change in our lives and the lives of others.

Traceroute traces packets by IP address so he's "finding" the IP of the virus and then deleting that location which makes no sense because you can't really delete an IP address.

Oh yeah, forgot about that. Looking at it now that looks pretty bad. Was just trying to emphasize I'm not removing it but it definitely looks pretty power trippy and I apologize.

Edit: as far as locking it goes I was getting absolutely bombarded with notifications while at work and I don't really have an active mod team.

Well, not gonna beat around the bush, was having a shitty day that day for one thing and I did find the report for someone saying "do elon next!" annoying, and then found out the reporter is a known mass reporter for shit like that, so I at the time decided to just "nip it in the bud" if you will. I didn't think at the time it was a big deal but I guess it was. After a bit of time passed I decided to reverse the ban. I keep forgetting reports go to both instances' admins, not just me, so reporting something that is against other instances' rules is fair.

This probably won't change anyone's mind but that is my side of the story.

Hell yeah! So glad to hear about this. This is exactly what I'm talking about. If we want to make the world better we need to start in our own backyards and actually take some responsibility for it by putting in the work doing what we can when we can.
