  • Tbh, I'd rather games look "worse" if it means it don't cause their devteams to have to crunch.

Honestly it's nice seeing at least some games trying to go for more stylised stuff rather than the just "shades brown" of games that were around when I was younger.

  • Someone who accepts me unconditionally and who I can trust fully. Someone who I can be my true self around and not worry about judgement.

  • Sure, but then you've got the problem of a bunch of suicidal people feeding off each other, which isn't healthy for anyone.

There are communities like !mentalhealth@lemmy.world and !autism@lemmy.world that I think work better. They aren't aimed at suicidal people directly (in fact I think they have rules barring suicide talk entirely), but encourage discussion and support for specific issues. There's an attitude of "here's a problem I'm having, how do I fix it/let me vent", rather than doomposting.

  • Suicide support is very hard to do correctly; you need to have training in order to properly help out people. You're also painting a huge "troll this community" sign on it for absolutely nasty people. Not too mention having a community where people post severely miserable things about themselves isn't going to be that healthy a space for people to exist in.

Much better to send anyone feeling suicidal to places that are better equiped to deal with it, like the Samaritans or whatever the US equivalent is.

  • In the UK at least, after a driving test the driving instructor usually drives the student home. It's a safety thing, because just after a test the student tends to have heightened emotions (positive or negative), which isn't that good for safe driving.

Not sure if that's the case wherever you are or if there's anything else going on, but worth considering.

  • Oh yeah, voting for the "lesser evil" is what people should do. But if you've already decided to vote for neither anyway, you may as well protest vote for the benefit of whatever world exists next election.

  • A comment on the post got deleted, so the comment count went down since you last looked at it.

  • To anyone that genuinely doesn't like either party, I think that you can still vote for a third party in the US? The system is rigged against them, but any little helps.

Or just ruin your ballot to show dissatisfaction in the status quo and maybe give the counters a good laugh.

  • shrugs * Depends on what happens during it, I guess. I'm a chronic worrier and anxiety haver, but even I feel that this question is a bit too premature.

For anyone worried about the future, I recently stumbled upon this video which hopefully can put things in perspective. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CGmdvdXoJ-8

  • Anyone know how Nebula is going these days?

  • I grew up during a time where "gay" was a common insult in school. And being called that probably impacted me more than I gave it credit for... I guess some other things (I went through a lot of abuse in high school) but none stick out to me as such.

More recently, some bi male friends of mine have been using the bundle-of-sticks word to refer to me and others, so I'm wondering if that term in particular is being reclaimed.

Other than that, apart from an American friend not realising how problematic "special" is, I've not really been slurred at. I don't think I'd take it very well though if it happened irl, given how sensitive I am...

  • Just tested a few countries through vpns in private browsing, didn't get blocked at all.

Could just be that your ip has been temporarily blocked for being "suspicious"?

  • I usually go for red, since I guess I never grew out of an edgy teen phase.

However, since the "red" on android is garbage, I'm recently trying a nice warm orange and it's quite nice.

  • I was looking for a weather app and I found Breezy Weather which seems to work fine for what I need it for. Can't be sure if it is what you're looking for, but might be worth a look.

  • Ignoring the obvious "change myself into a magical wolf man which ends up getting dissected by some government agency", probably just a tune up.

There's a lot of mostly minor and cosmetic stuff I'd fix. Removing the need for glasses. Fixing my teeth. Ridding myself of a genetic thing my chest does. Fixing that weird pop my toe does every one in a while. I'm not really interested in being mr muscle strongman who people think women flock to; it's just not me.

Mentally though, I'd like to see about removing my depression/anxiety stuff, although I'm not sure if that's allowed or not by the rules. That's honestly probably the biggest thing holding me back. I'd keep the autism though; being neurodivergent isn't a crime.

  • "I hope your guilt about how you treated me makes you resolve to be a better person."

... Yeah, I know I could probably be more vulgar, but ultimately that just keeps the cycle of hate going. And besides, teenagers gonna teenager.

  • Puss in Boots: the Last Wish turned out to be really good, imo.

  • I know it might just be paranoia, but I think my waifu might be seeing other people behind my back...
