  • Trying to get into better shape through better diet and getting back into cycling. Enjoying it so far, although only in week 2.

Also, going on holiday to France soon, first time I've been abroad in years, can't wait!

  • You've had some good advice on here I think, so I'll not add much other than to say I'm really sorry you're hurting, and I hope some time and distance away from her (not in a hostile way, just for your own wellbeing) helps you feel better.

Also, the therapy thing - when possible, yeah, talking shit out can really help. If money is an issue, there may still be some free local group counselling sessions you can find. I've done that, and I found that in addition to expressing my feeling, the process of listening to and comforting others actually made me feel better too.

away from the eyes away from the heart (dont know if its used in english)

Re that phrase, in English a common way of expressing much the same idea would be "Out of sight, out of mind"

Good luck dude, it gets easier [hug] 👍

  • I don't have a recipe for you, but someone once made me celery and red pepper soup and it was DELICIOUS.

  • I think so, yes - I first used the internet when I was about 18, it was the first real flush of it becoming a widely used consumer product.

As such, I had already formed most of my political/ethical stances, more or less, and they haven't really changed, other than to react to new factors in the world. I obviously still had some growing up to do but I think my basic life view hasn't really altered much.

  • I think it depends though. I've seen escalators with markers to indicate standing on the left. In that scenario, I think best to do as indicated rather than insist on right is right.

  • The one I always remember is from when I was a kid, probably about 8-10 years old.

It's basically just this. I was on a bridge over a river (not a huge bridge or a huge river) and I somehow knew that my younger brother had fallen into the water, and I jump down and the water is only about thigh deep and I'm searching and searching in this muddy water, pulling it apart frantically with my hands, and I just can't find him, and it goes on and on. I can still see it vividly. Deeply unsettling.

  • Possibly yeah. Although these are villages you'd drive through in about 5 seconds, so no matter where the pin is put it's not going to be 2 miles different. Maybe it's starting in a different place though, that might do it. Cheers, will check that out.

  • To annoy the sort of people who don't help at all with a question, but immediately query some other non-pertinent aspect of it.

  • Good idea, but I've tried overlaying closer zoomed in screengrabs and the routes appear to be absolutely identical! So weird.

  • Yeah, sorry, I maybe should have been clearer with that :-)

  • I started watching that once, but found it pretty hard to get into. Should have another go though, thanks for the reminder.

Have you ever seen Hotel Room? 3 unrelated stories, set in the same hotel room in different years. One has Crispin Glover and Alicia Witt and is excellent. The other two are decent enough too. I think they're all on YouTube.

  • My one is a show that may or may not have been related to Twin Peaks - after Season 3, Lynch was apparently working on something with a working title of either Wisteria or Undiscovered Night. IIRC it was a tie up with Netflix and was being made by Twin Peaks Productions, which has only ever made TP material, so the chances seemed high.

Unfortunately COVID happened, the project stalled and was eventually dropped, and of course Lynch died not too long ago.

I'd love to know what it was planned to be, TP or not.

    RIP David

  • Cool. I better hope Underworld keep releasing new stuff then... 😁
