  • Clearly this is an approach to rational conversation.

It must get tiring being a constant shit-stirrer?

  • Sunk cost.

Surely their Tesla will drive itself, any day now.

  • This is an absolute boon for the US, lol. We're not playing world police we're getting billions of dollars worth of military-industrial complex R&D.

  • You consider humans superior in intellect and ability compared to all other animals

    Does he?

  • As a kid I did.

As an adult, several of my partners have wanted to mesure it.

  • The entire point of a dishwasher is that it sacrifices a little bit of electricity to save A LOT of water.

    Pre-rinsing is antithetical.

  • Moving in and out of rooms you've created taps deeply into a very primitive part of human psychology, creating feelings of nostalgia and wonder and also in the case of minecraft--protection.

Another example is the "mind palace" method of recording information that humans used for centuries to record extensive oral histories.

You could think of the Doorway effect as a glitch from that same brain function.

  • Its like one is hotmail and the other is yahoo mail. They are free services/hosts that allow you to access the activityPub protocol. There are hundreds of such providers, and you can even host you own on your own services if you wanted to/were inclined.

Lemmy is a specific layout of the ActivityPub protocol. Continuing the metaphor, you could think of Lemmy like an email newsgroup. All the different lemmy instances display and sort the newsgroups the same way, which is to emulate reddit.

  • Reign Over Me, too.

  • Also, the doorway effect is a big reason why minecraft was a popular game.

  • But if they're of age, does the Lolbertarian even care?

  • "You don't have allergies Philby, you're just ugly!"

  • A window manager is part of every desktop suite. It controls how you view the windows of your different applications.

A tiling window manager doesn't generally allow the windows of different applications to overlap. You don't usually move them with a mouse.

Instead, they open and arrange according to an internal logic, which is usually scriptable and highly customizable by the user.

  • It's Open Source!

    Jump
  • Closed-source software is inherently predatory.

It doesn't matter if you can read the code or not, the only options that respect your freedom are open source.

  • Manjaro piggybacks off of Arch and some Arch users want to be obnoxious about it.

There's nothing wrong with the distro, itself.

The maintainers have done some inconsequential noob-ish things with the site's website, and the in-house package manager (pamac) had a bug that took down the AUR once and Arch users that couldn't host their own website if they wanted to like to point fingers and troll.

  • Politics isn’t football, you don’t pick your team and have to let everyone know about it.

It's a preservation strategy for failed ideologies.
