  • Were there child workers, or do immigrant families not have access to childcare? All the reports I have seen have only mentioned that children were present. When I was a kid, I spent many days hanging out where my dad worked. It is summertime. All the schools are out of session.

  • Presidents and former presidents already don't pay for healthcare. They get free government subsidized healthcare for life. The same goes for members of Congress.

    We should just get rid of all private insurance and enroll every person in Medicare.

  • I adopted my dog from the local shelter. They had to remove the tip of her tail because she had a happy tail so bad that she had bone deep cuts. They had first tried to stitch the wounds, but she popped the stitches and made the wounds worse. Thankfully, she doesn't have the happy tail affliction anymore. I guess that 'happy' is a misnomer. Her excessive tail wagging was more of a stress/anxiety behavior.

  • "At will" and "right to work" are two different laws. You accurately described "at will employment." "Right to work" laws make it illegal for unions to mandate the dues that you would pay them. It effectively defunding and disempowering unions.

    According to Wikipedia, "In the context of labor law in the United States, the term right-to-work laws refers to state laws that prohibit union security agreements between employers and labor unions. Such agreements can be incorporated into union contracts to require employees who are not union members to contribute to the costs of union representation."
