  • What we do know is Brock Allen Turner raped an unconscious woman behind a dumpster, was only sentenced to 6 months in prison, and was released after 3 fro good behavior. This is a huge case of white, moneyed privilege. Brock Allen Turner is a rapist and should never be allowed to hold a job in the United States.

  • Seems like a niche initiative to use right wing, working class idols to promote socialist ideals. My guess is the intent is the target market is more likely to read the meme and view it in a positive manner when paired with someone they respect instead of, say, Einstein or MLK Jr.

  • If you are looking for a home-brew solution, I'd get a UV bar light and a lazy Susan. Make sure you wear gloves and eye protection when using.

Alternatively there are cure stations on the market. I use the elegoo wash and cure station (Mercury, I think they call it?)

  • If you are in the US, gift cards are required to be valid for at least 5 years (federal rule) and many states have longer rules. Also some states require unspent money to be paid back to the card holder as cash. There was a thread a couple of days ago on Lemmy all about gift cards and relevant consumer protections.

  • Beef/chicken/vegi stock, totally. I have to drive 65 miles to the closest store that sells pork stock, but I can get pork bones from my local butcher, so it's absolutely worth it to make my own pork stock for home made hot and sour soup.

  • "...or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State,"

The district court ruling actually followed your line of thinking, that because the president is specifically called out, that office is exempt from this clause. The state supreme court referenced many documents contemporary to the writing of the 14th amendment indicating that is not the case, and the present absolutely falls under "any office under the United States".

  • My tinfoil hat theory is that the district judge did not want to be responsible for keeping trump off the ballot, be it safety for her/her family, or that it is such a momentous event that she did not feel comfortable bearing that weight alone. So she came up with this "not specifically references" conclusion as a soft punt to the state supreme court.
