With a user base that mostly consists of a mix of economically liberal privacy advocates and leftists, I wouldn't expect too many to view a company like Google to be a long term positive influence on the world.
both Democratic and Republican politicians benefit from all the bullshittery going on
They absolutely don't. They just have a very short term view because of reelection cycles and fundraising needs. You'd think their capitalist masters would also realize this increasing polarization and dissatisfaction with the status quo is going to make the line go down, but nobody ever accused economic liberals of actually being aware when the noose was tightening on their necks.
Weimar Germany was much more fucked than the US is (right now). The fasc would fail if he tries it, but it'd set the stage for a successful attempt by someone else.
I wouldn't trust animal rights activists to be fairly representing all involved parties themselves. Nobody made enough money off this sheep to even justify renting a winch.
Wilson said the farmer that owned Fiona didn't want to ask "anyone else for help because it would be on him if they got hurt."
"So sometimes you just need a group of idiots to get a job done," he wrote in the caption. "We got a great result today but a slip of a foot and we would have just been fools with good intentions."
The subhead is important in getting the gist of this article "study it now." Meaning the ridiculous amount of research on Twitter was dumb for awhile, but now that it's changing it might be worth looking at.
They also point out why it's not going to happen
Refocusing on studying X won’t be easy. It will require new methods and approaches that do not depend on the large amounts of data that were easily accessible before.
The API access was what made it so heavily studied and the current costs are why this change isn't going to be low hanging fruit for researchers to pump papers out on.
My friend, you're making character judgements and hurling abuse about some random content in the ass end of the fediverse. If you think I'm taking you remotely seriously you are severely mistaken.
Haha, my incredibly controversial quote of some podunk newspaper about a minor note in a page 7 story. Yes, absolutely, what a transgression. I truly am scum.
I was already at around -5 actually at that point, which was quite amusing. And the vitriol like this continues to be incredibly amusing. Such a reaction over such stupidly small things.
Kbin thing. A boost is essentially a retweet on Twitter and Kbin makes those comments go to the top of the list. An upvote is a favorite. Lemmy only uses favorites and doesn't use boosts. Since Kbin uses can see all favorites and boots, we can see when users like Downpunxx do it to their own comments.
You never have any respect for the bad/non-spam Kbin users like me, Admiral Patrick.
