I’d rather just call an issue what it is rather than create umbrella terms that encapsulate a variety of really complex topics.

while i like this approach of calling things by what they are, i dont know if it helps with the problem at hand or is even achievable.

critical race theory, while not necessairily being immediatly obvious in its meaning, is relatively specific and that still did not stop rightist from making it up to be some big evil. i doubt that even something direct like "fighting systemic racism" could not be coopted.

about the achievability, social justice causes have a very obvious relationship, highlighted even more by discussions of intersectionality. i think people will keep using umbrella terms cor these causes because they make it easier to communicated valued quickly and find people sharing these values.

our society might not be based around mutual aid but that does not mean that mutual aid can not exist in it. you can join ur local mutual aid groups or start something yourself if nothing exists in your area yet.

life can be very draining and it is fair to not have the energy to act but that does not mean that nothing is happening

someone quoted judith buttler to me in the past with "sex is a gendering of biology" (not word for word) and i think that makes things a lot clearer.

this does not necessairily explain how gender and sex as social categories came to be, but it does explain well why both are so inconsistent.

genders are social categories imposed on every aspect of human life, but it is not done because there is a material aspect to it, rather out of the mindset "when you have a hammer (gender), everything becomes a nail (gendered)".

sex is this same thing done to biology. we gender chromosomes, hormomes, reproductive organs, bone structure, hair, biological capabilities,.. as if they could be hard categorized, when they are only loosely related.

categories like gender, that attempt to categorize everything, are sometimes useful for simplyfied, generalizing analysis, but they do not hold up on an individual level. they should not have any final say over anything that will affect people and should definitly not be assumed to be applicable to individuals.

i think this meme is very correct, in that it points out, that reality is infinitely more complex than the flawed models we construct to think about it. we should not take these models as gospel.

all the things u list are still just individual factors, thst can be indicidually measured. gender does not play a role for them. make leagues based on these factors and not gender.

what does "fully transitioned" mean? ppl transition in different ways and hrt keeps changing the body for 7-8 years before stabelizing.

just make categories based on factors that are relevant to the sport, like height, limb lenghts, and muscle mass, instead of gender. grouping by gender is both inherently sexist/genderist and doesnt actually fix inequalities, because the bodies of ppl of any given gender varie widely and there are big interesctions between genders.

so that's really what people should be grouped based on in these sports instead of gender.
