  • Tbf, schools did a terrible job of that by giving us all those diagrams with the different sections of taste buds highlighted on the tongue.

It makes sense that a child would see that and understand it as there being different taste sections, especially because they usually (IIRC) had bitter on both sides.

  • Yeah, so we just finished up and are relaxing in the postpartum room. My god, it was a messy process there at the end.

But I got the little redhead girl I wanted, so my wife and I are very happy.

    Here's to firsts 🍾

  • Piracy dies (mostly) with easy and reasonably priced ways to pay for content. Most people don't want to do something illegal and want to support those who make content.

But when publishers like Warner Brothers are removing content from services making pirating sites the only place to find artists' work, then little are going to pirate.

Without sites like the Internet Archive, so much stuff would risk being lost forever because of greedy copyright practices.

  • Console gaming is just easy. No launchers, no installation problems, I know that every game I download to it is going to work. I don't need to worry about upgrading parts or troubleshooting software.

And really though, with Game Pass I'm not at all worried about game costs. It's just a non-issue. Anything not on the service, I'll buy normally.

  • I just recently left YTM for Tidal and have been really enjoying the scaled-back lack of algorithmic social BS. Tidal is about the music and the artists, almost none of the social stuff and algorithms that try to get you to spend every waking moment on the app. I have the same issue with Spotify. They have a live sharing feature, but you can turn it off so that you don't see any of it.

It's like if you had a music player for just the music files you own, but it's streaming.

I'm absolutely done with YTM and all its bullshit.

  • There's no way Nintendo abandons the removable joycons. They're such an important part of the switch experience.

Literally all Nintendo needs to do is release essentially the same hardware format with increased computing power, better screen, and a bit more "robustness" in the hardware (the OG feels plasticy and flexes quite a lot).

They'd sell it probably as much as the original. Because BOTW and TOTK deserve higher graphical output.

  • My god, I feel this. Coworker get-together right after work and I'm absolutely exhausted within an hour.

Just need an hour or two at home to recharge, right? But now I'm sat down, wait, lying down on the couch, and am not getting up to go do whatever it is I committed myself to.
