I mean, the right is already committing violence against its enemies, the media just fails to report it as what it is. Instead it's "lone wolves" and "mental health problems". Rittenhouse literally shot people on camera and got away with it "because skateboard".
He's already a god to his followers. People literally paint him as the second coming of Jesus Christ.
There is no one worse in this moment than Donald Trump.
Old age is not a "gaffe" that's the point. He's getting decrepit to the point of being unfit permanently, that's the reason he got away with years of gaffes and now this is a real problem for the party.
Americans understand how old age works, it's not temporary, and it's obvious he's reaching that point that all people eventually do where things start to decline rapidly.
Russia would have completely invaded Ukraine if the US were isolationist and had a weak military. Countries with imperial ambitions like Russia and China don't just go away because the US stops military support to other countries.
The US needs leadership that will use their military deterrence for good, not to stop supporting other democratic countries or get rid of their military. We need to keep zionists and the fascists out of office.
Knowing that democrats will religiously do the opposite of whatever progressives suggest, I don't think it's necessarily a bad way for him to approach this, similar to AOC. If Biden stays in past the convention they can seamlessly try to bolster his support, and if he steps down they've made it clear they'll support whatever Dem nominee happens to be moved in.
Biden is looking for anything to grasp onto to justify to himself to stay in the race, if progressives joined in on the calls for him to step down it would probably only dig him in further since he really hates the left. It's a very strange dynamic honestly the way this is going.
There's not much Sanders can do to influence things so he is opting for not rocking the boat and hoping the neolibs who are close to Biden get him to step out. That would be my theory at least.
It's a pointless thing to talk about because Trump's support is locked in and there's nothing anyone can do to push Trump out. His being unfit to lead is a feature to his supporters, not a bug.
There is, however, a slim chance that Biden may be able to be pressured out before august, so that's really the only thing people should be focusing on until the convention is behind us.
This is what groups like the ACLU are for, though I'd imagine that kind of help really depends on the strategic context. It's difficult to make any case in this climate knowing the highest court is so corrupted.
Unfortunately your support has helped bolster the viability of the model, it'll be the norm eventually and there won't be a way of getting most games without a paid service. Canceling won't be an option at a certain point, that's how these things work.
The right is entirely consolidated though, there is no room for a burst of silent bigots. Trump only garners around a quarter of the electorate, probably even less at this point, he is easily beatable it just needs to be someone who's not Biden.
Also, Obama won both terms, so I'm not sure what you mean. Dems ran a really bad candidate in 2016, depressing turn out of their own potential voters. Harris doesn't have the baggage Clinton has.
Conceding to misogynists and bigots from the get go is a non-starter as far as I'm concerned.
Nah, she also has better polling than Biden. I'd rather have a chance to win than definitely lose, Harris is the most realistic option.
The rage from the right has reached its saturation point, there simply aren't enough bigots left to boost Trump's numbers. Only way Dems lose is they fail to produce turn out, Biden simply has too much toxic baggage.
I hope she gets the candidacy, not because I'm particularly enthusiastic about her politics (beggers can't be choosers these days), but if for no other reason than to watch the right's wall-eyed, impotent rage.
