i guess i'm not getting hired for any work ever then.. i just want to work and do my work well, not play their sick mindgames or pretend to be someone i'm not. I dont have any motivation to force myself to do work on fields outside my education either anymore.
targeted ads are stupid anyway, i dont want to hear about stuff i could look up myself if i need something. Constant ads are even more stupid because its just stuffing their stupid corporate shit down our throats.
There should be one opt in ad service that collects all the possible ads and you then just browse it like a catalog or something if you want to find ideas what to buy.
if they were to use those for any reason, it would be horrible suicide for them. They could destroy the society as we know it with them but they couldnt stop the retaliation which would be so vengeance fueled I dont want to even think about it.

not showing them separately would remove the information about how divided users opinions are about that post, post with 200+ and 100- would still look like 100+ which would convey wrong impression about users opinions. Its quite effective way to silence one side of the opinion pool.
either europe gets its shit together or gets divided by russia and usa. If we lose, europe will be colonized and/or enslaved by republicans and russians alike though ultimate winner will be the billionaires. It wont look like colonization of old most likely but we wont be the masters in our own house anymore, so to speak.

frankly, lemmy is literally only place I have found where you can discuss politics reasonably. I also try to rid myself of any pride about being right about anything and actually look forward to being called out if someone thinks i'm wrong. Then I can take a look at what they say and adjust my own opinions if the other guy makes sense.
Though i dont go to .ml, they seem more interested in witch hunts than making anything better.
Its very easy to promote yourself with bots or alt accounts if you know how or just are kind of person who would do that kind of thing even if it takes time.
good thing about lemmy is that if you have bad experience, you can effectively ignore it and still find some good elsewhere. On reddit the shit is so ingrained everywhere you cant really escape it. I also had bad experience with .ml instance that I never had with reddit. But all the good experiences I have had dont even compare to reddit.
Also knowing that some rich piece of shit cant manipulate anything here on fundamental level makes lemmy feel clean.
if those sites are gathering information about adblockers to find ways to make them not work, they are harmful.
