  • hmm, i looked it up myself and it doesnt seem to say its installed for me there. Cant find it by searching on my phone, only on my pc through search engine. But someone on comments there brought a good point by telling that his some old phone basically bricked because of this due to it being incompitable.

I also have fairphone, though i'm not sure if that really is the reason. Maybe they are indeed gradually installing it then.

  • i havent had it yet either. only suspicious thing that i notice is some android system intelligence, but that has been there for a while now. i havent dared to uninstall/deactivate it yet since i dont know if anything critical is dependent on it. havent even noticed any suspicious network activity either on rethink, beyond the usual bullshit like some uninstalled application still trying to connect to google as "unknown".

  • if we accept 70€ then they increase the price to 80€. when we accept that they increase it to 90€ and so on. Though i guess this becomes kind of moot point when high price on game has started to correlate with lower quality on every aspect except graphics.

  • No i just think it has its benefits and flaws. The flaws should be fixed and if they cant then something new should be came up with that that works better. Socialism is going in correct direction, possibly the only direction for worthwhile society. We just need to learn from the mistakes of the past.

  • i'm not blaming other pirates for anything. What i'm saying is there are consequences for some things. For example, many things are not acted upon because corporations and governments arent aware of them. Or some things are just ignored because its cheaper for them to do nothing about it than act. If anything I'm putting my trust on other pirates for hoping they might consider how their actions could affect others instead of thinking only themselves or their immediate community.

Don't you see the necessity of trying to manage how corporations might respond? And i'm not saying people shouldnt be doing things out of fear but everyone should try to act smartly so we can preserve what we have. This goes beyond what i said earlier so dont hang on only to what I said. i just cant untangle some thoughts from eachother and still be able to write text that doesnt meander too much.

  • only thing that inherently has worth to me is making world better place. Communism is just a tool, if it doesnt work correctly then it ought to be fixed or abandoned for something else that works better. And evidently it doesnt work correctly considering how china or soviet union turned out to be for those not in power.

  • yeah, i just wish people thought more about these things. There are consequences not just to yourself but possibly towards fellow pirates and bystanders. Personally I have benefitted from family sharing greatly, much more than from piracy as with piracy you have to accept the possibility of malware which I cant afford at the moment. I really dont want to see valve rescind it.

  • if all humans could plan for the future and wished inherently to make world into better place for others too instead of just themselves communism might work. But as it is, the idea needs some heavy reworking to adjust for human defiencies to be worth even considering. I dont understand how they even came up with something like this and thought its good idea as it is. And naively thought no one would abuse their power or even could manage it all efficiently. Maybe it wasnt idea born out of wanting to make better world but instead just counter reaction to capitalism.

its so annoying, i have this vague idea of something like world without exploitative private property. Like, money would be replaced with actual value of work you have done, you could reasonably use tools and resources without being gatekept by private ownership while still being allowed to have your own things as long as it doesnt cause harm to others. When someone wants more than they can have, its solved instead by working towards improving things for everyone instead of just yourself.

but its just that, a vague idea; mostly fit to taunt me like dangling bottle of water out of reach of someone dying of thirst. And its seeming more and more like wishing one could do magic. It doesnt seem like humans could ever be capable of having a world like that or even want to .

  • far be it from me to defend any corporation, but doesnt this send wrong kind of a message to them? They didnt need to make family sharing, let alone remind you if you can already play a game through it when purchasing one. This isnt typical behaviour and should be allowed a little slack for it, to show other corporations that not being asshole is more profitable.

If valve goes bad then nothing is too horrible, but until that, its kind of bad form to stab a hand that offers a little kindness, even if their ultimate goal is to just make money by staying on top by having good will. I dont think we can expect to get anything better.

other corps dont seem to be getting the message that not being asshole is more profitable, but I think valve can very easily start thinking that being nice is weakness if that is exploited.

  • if the testing sites are indeed doing it then they are likely more efficient about it, trying to make money from selling the data they gather. Worst thing about them is they are completely unnecessary and pointless even if they were trying to help users with blockers. There is no point in testing your adblocker, just go to the sites you usually go and if you see ads then it doesnt work properly.
