  • This is like every drama channel on YouTube. Usually on the front page and titled "We need to talk" or a stupid title like that. Idk what they come up to sustain this stuff, but they obviously drag it out as long as they can.

  • freedom of speech

  • I wonder how these "free speech absolutists" feel about the recent CSAM attack on Lemmy. That's a prime example of how you get them to realize unfiltered free speech doesn't work, or you have them openly support cp, one of the two lol.

  • Paying for a search engine is one of the dumbest things I've ever heard lol. DDG is just better and I question what you use to guage better results, especially since you already spent money and are already susceptible to bias.

  • I just search ddg and get my results. I don't get those affiliates, top 10 lists, or whatever you're talking about. I just get good results, and if I don't then I try using Google.

Another tip that basically works with all search engines. Mark a word in "quotes" to have results require that word in the page. Helps you narrow results down if you need something specific.

  • You are intentionally being bad faith at this point. I'm talking about your average everyday reactionary who's a blue collar worker and is just repeating what they hear around them. I've stated that multiple times now. You're equating that with a hateful gop politician that is following every culture war and republican narrative. They are not remotely the same, and you're straw manning this so you can play victim instead of having a normal conversation.

  • Think you just described crypto markets, and it'd be overrun with scams, fraud, legal issues, and zero accountability. Also my payment info and shipping address is the very last thing I want given to random decentralized instances ran by unknown people. No thanks.

At least when Amazon sends something shitty, they'll fight back against the seller and you're actually receiving something. Also big tech is significantly less likely to ever expose your personal information (addresses, payment info, etc) then some random instance owner.

So this is absolutely a terrible idea in a digital environment.
