I have a friend like that as well. I basically told him that we can't talk politics if we want to stay friends. Keep in mind if that wasn't going to be honored on either side I was willing to end the friendship.

Yes it's drm, and that is the debate I've seen around. Some are saying gog is going towards drm and some say they are already there.

It tries to communicate with galaxy to verify you own the dlc. So with this fix you can't play the dlc using heroic. Unless you use comment or galaxy in wine.
