  • Wow, that is weird. I honestly just made that up in my head when I wrote it.

The saying is true, if it's free, you're the product.

I don't actually know why I care about that level of privacy. Some of us are quite fine with companies or their government having any information about them. Some are very opposed.

Maybe I dislike the idea that information could be used against me somehow or they're making even more money than I'm already paying in some hypothetical case. Not sure.

  • Doesn't the Democratic party have complete majority control of most cities and the state legislature?

That's a party which usually claims to be about taking care of poor people or 'housing is a human right', but I keep seeing evidence that part of California's issue is residents eliminating any/all zoning that isn't classic single family homes in places where there's tons of good jobs, but super expensive housing.

It's hard to wade through political party propaganda, but I thought this was well documented.

I don't live in CA, so I don't really know more than articles publish, but it just seems like they voted for the more American liberal/progressive party and still aren't getting those values?

  • I'm sure corporations like this would give you free Internet if they could collect and sell all your data. I'm also sure people would still do it, regardless of how much they are being monetized as a product.

Since companies like Facebook own legislators, our only real choice is to stop using it. Unpopular opinion, but If you really want fuck Zuck, delete your account, and get all your friends and family to as well. Maybe there's some alternatives for the people who truly use the service to connect with friends/family?

  • Firstly, you can't punch retards (current Republicans extremist lead group). /S I seriously don't even know where to start with that party. Totally fucked.

So that leaves me with American left. After the millionth devotee to try and convince me Biden is actually a good candidate instead of realizing how terrible things have been going, yeah, I'm punching party leadership.

They did this to us. They put us in a tough spot. Just like with Hillary v Fuck. That's how fuck won. He didn't win, American left lost. There's a difference.

They've made it very hard to sell their party, other than by default because the only other option is fucked and talks about being a dictator. He's not even kidding.

This is my frustration and opinion.

  • More odd to me to see CNN publishing something against Biden, unless their goal is to scare people into action. I can't imagine people not being scared to vote for him regardless of whether they like Biden or not.

The party could have just picked a better candidate, but sure, let's keep putting lipstick on these pigs...and have to deal with things like possibly ending democracy.

  • I actually mentioned Bush/McCain because they were no where near as bad as now. Voting R wasn't as scary then.

Can do it now, now it's a coup, like you said.

  • WTF. I don't know where to start.

I don't understand what's happening in the plains states. It's like a tornado sucked out all their humanity. I hadnt seen that yet.

You lost me with piss... 🤷

I actually have a lot of empathy for people who are shit on. I don't hate you or think you should have to feel that way.

  • I usually call it plain old bigotry, but I think some just legitimately don't know it.

I have met people who had good hearts, but stupid beliefs. I think some are sheltered and do t have perspective.

Then there's cake lady. AKA, bigot. Exactly what you said.

  • I do t think I knew about that, interesting. Thanks.

  • It's hard to see, but I know people who went through the pig trauma program and it was huge. Way more real experience than any training aid ever. Just sucks.

  • Lol, no way. They'll basically say they own the software, and you can't do anything except not get one. They already say you don't own the OS in your phone 😋

  • Yeah, I don't know this, but did we very gently slay a ton of animals learning how to do surgery and heart transplants?

I'm not a huge fan either, but how do people feel when the procedure saves their mom or kid?

  • Ha, you're probably right. I guess you aren't supposed to talk to the driver, but I imagined they would see and hear from a lot of the city's community members, might know people's lives more?

Maybe not, like you said, just keep your eyes and the road and don't interact wouldn't offer much perspective.

Edit, maybe more empathy when people take issue with road conditions and traffic! 😋

  • You mean because it's public transit and might need more subsidy to raise wages and thus probably becomes political?

  • Yeah, I just edited the comment. That narrative is tired and political, and I honestly didn't think of that at the time.

Not that it really matters what the example is.

  • Thanks for this. Honestly, I see this a bit differently from my initial thoughts.

  • I see your point. As I've been thinking about the need for kids to have resources somewhere, the school is a pretty good place for it. They need a safe place.

I don't need to control my kid. I don't do that now. I believe in setting the condition for honesty and growth, like making mistakes, without being crushed for it. Feels like that's working so far.

I would support the ability for them to get counseling on how to deal with parents and how to deal with a world that seems to shit on and oppress small groups of people. I just would want them to get me involved at some point. Maybe there are cases where that's not in the best interests of the young person. That's the argument for giving the school discretion. I see that.

My self harm comment was because of my concern for my kid's safety, that's why I would personally be mad. I wouldn't think that needed spelled out, but I'm guessing you're using its omission to support your judgement.

I disagree with your high horsing assertion. You're allowed that opinion of me, but working through things is easier when you aren't called names. It feels like most of your comments are high horsing from the other side. I'd rather you just ask questions.

  • Pretty good analogy. You're not wrong, I'm still mad about it. We'll be our undoing. Feels like Rome...
