  • I would also like to avoid ads, and pay streaming services rather than cable or anything with ads. Oddly, this hasn't been the case for any online news sites. The Indy Star is begging and pay walling for subscribers and for some reason, I don't want to. But I don't want ads. I admit it's unreasonable to have neither. They need to pay people like anyone else.

  • Shhh, Guys, Sony is listening... 😉

Or they'll throw all their lawers at your instance admin. That actually worries me some.

  • I agree. What I have no idea about these days is how to solve this.

It might be a 'there is no solution' type problem, but it would be nice if more people and organizations as a whole recognized this issue.

Maybe publishing questionable information over a long period of time or our lack of holding orgs and individuals accountable contributed. I'd think it hard to legislate accountability without reducing freedom or speech, press, and opinion (that isn't toxic, but that's subjective and part of the problem isn't it).

  • Sometimes it's for career progression or familiarity.

Just for SSO, might be easier ways, sure.

  • I think I'm the most ridiculous, but for the same career reasons as the rest:

Active directory, yes, plus: Azure cloud sync with entra active directory Hybrid exchange on prem and office/exchange online.

For better or worse, large enterprise isn't going away from M$.

Also, I have transparent proxy sophos IPS, security Onion IDS, Trellix ePO, and other security products all being integrated for info security testing.

Not suggesting this is normal, just my test/dev playground I don't have to worry about breaking.

  • All the descriptions are right and techniques. Microsoft sometimes refers to this is split-brain and their documentation.

Organizations that choose not to do that use an active directory specific subdomain like some of the other comments mentioned. Example: adds. Company.tld.

    Computer1.adds.company.tld. Dc1.adds.cimoany.tld.

    Others doing split domain are

    Adds.company.internal

  • Also the cornerstone of enterprise, for better or worse at the moment.

  • How would you constructively mentor someone who you think was rased that way? Assuming you had the kind of relationship that allowed it?

I've had these kind of talks with people before. You ever made progress with giving someone more options?

  • Ha, thanks. Now I don't feel as dumb for chucking the bread.

  • guys pat each other on the ass after a good play

But it's such a masculine pat, not even a pat, a hit, a slap! A hard, masculine manly slap.

There's a Key and Peele skip coming to mind...

    Found it. Slap-Ass](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5-uIwpo0dCU)

Edit, and yes, I agree to an extent. I don't think previous generations of men were taught healthy ideas about emotions, feeling, etc. Anger is generally accepted, sadness, hurt, etc are not. They are just translated to anger to be accepted. I think the general problem is starting to be acknowledged. Maybe not fixed, but there's a start maybe.

  • LOL, that's awesome. Almost an entire days worth of calories. Sounds delicious. You printing the calories on the menu?

This is the Parks and Rec Ponch burger this reminds me of. "Put it in your body or you're a nerd!"

There's a place called Bub's burgers where they do a 1lbs burger challenge. They're actually pretty good too. Not sure about how it compares nationally.

  • This is going to draw agro, but I feel like you're describing all my voting choices lately.

  • some like things, some don't

The replies about the stats goes so well with my thought on this.

If I was to talk about some other topic as much as people talk about sports ball stuff, I'd get crap for it.

If I don't want to talk about sports ball crap, I get crap for it.

It's a weird double standard sometimes. Maybe because sports are so prevalent and common?

  • Did people think more critically before? Or maybe there was limited dissemination in the past? Crazy BS maybe didn't travel as far?

I'd like to think we could differentiate between fact, opinion, and BS more in the past, but that's probably not true.

  • We have no idea!

I'm interested in what it's like to live in a country where the culture, society, people are more...United. I don't mean all the same.

I don't think the melting pot saying is true anymore. People don't want to blend together, lack of a sense of community or pride, nothing to be proud of anymore?

    Lots of get mine mentality.

  • but no side

You included all the sides on the burger!

What's the calorie count on that!?

As I'm asking this nonsense question, I'm thinking of the punch burger commercial from the parks and rec show where they say who cares, put it in your body!

  • True, and a bummer at the moment.

I'm hoping there's a future efficiency gain. Like how we transitioned from nicad, to li, and now to solid?

    The concept is super cool.

  • I wonder what would have been revealed if he had published tax information on all of Congress.

I feel like them calling for such harsh treatment isnl a defense mechanism for knowing they either use the same tactics,.or they don't like when someone mentions all the legal insider trading/conflict of interest they all do?

I'm pretty sure every senator and rep has more money then everyone I know.

  • Some of what you mentioned reminds me of the use it or loose is spending model of appropriated funds, and the automatic renewal of some funding year and year.
