  • This seems like a very academic and thought intensive process. That's not a criticism.

I'll have to fight my natural instincts of finding the easy button on this one.

    Thanks

  • It's the movie Idiocracy. He's fixin to do somethin prezidential up in here. /S

I'd so much rather vote for president Camacho.

  • I agree this is a significant factor. I saw some documentaries talking about the decisions we made with the power grid pros/cons wise when you consider ac/dc. No the band 😋

We use so much technology that requires direct current that we have at spend a bunch of resources converting it back from ac. The whole efficiency of transportation from large central generation vs smaller local less efficient stations.

The documentary said some industrial areas in Germany? were considering providing local grid based direct current.

I'm curious what the cost benefit analysis says about going back to local DC and not needing so many transformers.

  • There's also upcoming solid state batteries, and maybe flow batteries if they can get the electrolyte mixture efficient.

I am very intrigued by flow batteries. It basically behaves like a gas fuel concept. Pump some out, pump some in, charge it slowly somewhere else,. hopefully from solar and wind, or fusion haha

  • Why can't we do the same to literally every major organization?

I'd love to see someone talking about legislation that hold any mass media, PR entity, etc legally liable for publishing incorrect information.

Can you imagine if a simple retraction statement buried somewhere wouldn't cut it and the organization's leaders were criminally charged or sued?

All the sudden talking heads would be a huge liability and maybe only facts would be broadcast again?

    Probably impossible.

  • I appreciate the fact that both of you didn't just say all rich people are ___ and acknowledged they're still people. I have actually met some really nice rich people, but not fortune 500 rich, just well off.

I very much agree with the better circumstances comment. I know some people who definitely didn't have any obstacles in their upbringing, but they weren't bad people.

I also believe they have a hard time empathizing or even understanding less fortunate people because they don't know any or didn't have the experience. I'm sure they make decisions based on this life experience.

I've also met some loaded super garbage people too. The kind of people who treat everyone like the help. Lots of them at sporting events oddly?

  • Everyone has well covered my frustration with both the tax ideas here and some miscarriage justice, so I have this question:

    Question:

    • What countries do you think are really good examples of what right looks like for taxation?
    • Any countries that rise above the rest for proper proportion of personal tax, corporate tax, etc?

Why: The older I get, the more I feel like Americans are tought that capitalism good, else bad; rich are the reason the rest of us have it as good as we do, and we should thank them for it.

I'd like to compare to other countries, that's why I'm curious,.just trying to Google is a broad starting place.

  • There are also equity based life insurance policies I think you can do similar things. My guy explained it to me as the justification for the policy and of course because I'm a stupid simpleton, I've never looked at actually trying to do something with it.

Lol, I don't want to even be in dept to myself.

  • I always liked the term boots on our necks, but it's more like boat shoes or Armani?

  • The two party/mass media distraction machine working on the next big thing? 😄

Trump even admitted to this stuff though, he said they all do it and they won't change the tax laws. IEven Chappelle write a bit about it.

He waves it in 'average Joe's' face, and people are still voting for him. 🤯

  • What about virtualizing windows?

Only thing I know of is hyperv, but it's not widely used I don't think and MS is pushing azure $tack right?

  • Do hit the TrueNas forums. It's very important if you're not a ZFS pro.

I had to learn quite a bit before I got my setup right.

The FreeBSD people can be... abrasive at times, let it roll off your back if they are. TN is one of my favorites.
